Last night decided to do some steaks on the grill. Was real concerned about the steak going down so was real careful not to get them overdone. DH cooked them perfectly on the grill and I made a salad and baked a sweet potato. Well we set down to eat and I had two bites of salad and it hit. OUCH!!! The golf ball effect in the chest. Couldn't believe the salad did it to me. I was expecting the steak to give me the problem. After about 10 minutes of walking around felt better and decided to try the steak. Had cut it up into small pieces and was able to eat with no problem. Had about 3 oz and was full. Did eat about 1/4 of the sweet potato.

No question except to say watch out for that salad.....Sometimes the things that you don't expect, can give you the most problem. I have been able to eat salad before my last fill in July. Not anymore....

When you chew lettuce in a salad it doesn't really break it up, instead it bruises it and mushes it into a ball. So when you swallow it a lot of time it will open up and just lay over your pouch! When you do have salad go for really crunchy leaves like romaine instead or spinach and softer greens!

I had a salad this afternoon and "almost" got stuck. Felt the golf ball for abotu 10-15 seconds. I was eatting too fast though. Last night I tried pizza (bad me) and felt the golf ball for about 30-45 seconds. That was the longest it's ever happened to be. I've (crosses fingers and knocks on wood) never had what I would consider a real "stuck" episode. Though if I eat too fast I will feel that feeling in my chest for a few seconds.

salad kicked my butt tonight too, first time I have tried it since my fill and oh man not good, not sure if I ate to fast, did not chew enough or what but it was the worst episode I have had. Normally if i get the golf ball, worst case I may throw up a bit but once the offending bite is gone then life is good, not with the salad it went on for a while...

Well I love salads so decided to try one last night with spinach. Got the baby spinach with soft leaves and made me a salad. Granted I only used about 1/2 cup of well torn leaves and filled the rest of the bowl up with deli turkey and ham and LF cheese with cukes and Tomato from my garden. Only used about 1 tablespoon ranch dressing and it was fabulous.

Don't know if it was just a day when I wasn't so tight or the spinach that made the difference but I really enjoyed the salad. My DH said it wasn't really a salad since I only had a small amount of greens but satisified me. And I got a lot of good Protein.....

I just wanted to add something that not too many people know. Spinach actually offers very little nutritian raw! The Vitamins and what not in Spinach are released when it is cooked...so really salads aren't that good for you...I thought that was pretty interesting so I thought I'd share it

No wonder I got so stuck on a spinach salad Tuesday. I wasn't sure what did it but I think you hit the nail on the head for me.

Thanks for the insight.

No problem! When ever I have a salad (not very often) I go for the crunchy parts lol. The romaine hearts and spines of the lettuce!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
