Pain when hungry?

Recommended Posts

I've noticed that on days when I don’t eat something until afternoon I get a stomach ache. I mean like my stomach hurts bad until I put something in it. Ive gotten into a pretty normal routine of starting my day w/a bottle of Water and then about an hour later I eat something. On weekends sometimes I'm up and running and don’t eat until I notice that pain approaching. Anyone else having this issue? I guess it's kinda good b/c it works like a reminder to eat, but I wonder what exactly is causing the pain?

I don't have pain when I don't eat but I get pain when I slouch when sitting for awhile or I've noticed pain if I eat to much and not the restriction kind of pain more around my port spot. Sorry I'm not much help!

Real hunger to me since being banded 4 years ago has always been painful.

I mean, i can get a little peckish and have a rumble or two and that just feels like hunger always has done to me. But if I go say from lunch at midday till dinner at 7.30 I will get a painful hunger. For me, the pangs turn into something more crampy and I will get acidy too. Then when I do eat and hit my stomach, it burns, like wine or coffee does when you've got a bit of heartburn.

The answer to me is easy, I eat regularly and small rather than go long times without eating. I do basically follow a 3 meals a day plan as I just dont seem to handle five small meals well, I need it to be 3 main meals and a definite 'snack' rather than a small meal, meaning just a nibble of something.

Yes,I do. I get a sharp pain between my shoulder blades when I get too hungry and it doesn't go away until I eat something. I wish I knew what causes the pain, but I have no idea why. All my doctor said is that it is "unusual but not unexpected." At my next fill, I'm pressing him for more of an explanation!

I get this painful hunger also. and I think it affects everyone differently. I think for 1 being obese means I was NOT use to what really hungery is suppose to feel like so it took me by surprize. And 2 the stomach is full of nerves in and around it. the band being in place could make the whole stomach area more sensitive and so the nerves send thier relays differently than they have in the past. I have felt that cramping kind of pain before also and yes it is no fun. But as many have said our bodies were created for servival and they will do all they can to tell us what they need. Eating a nibble 5 time a day should keep us all from this level of pain.

This is my two cents, Hope this help.

I have also had this awful hunger pain! It has slowly faded and I don't get it that bad anymore, but when I did it was not cool! It felt like my stomach was eating itself! My doctor just laughed when I told him that hunger hurt! obviously it is not a worry!

I don't know if it's hunger pain, but occasionally I will get some pain in my stomach. It's always in the morning, and it's like a prickly kind of pain. I'm usually hungry when I wake up because I take group fitness classes from 530-630 and I think it keeps my metabolism up through the night. On days I'm not hungry, I do feel pain. Maybe it's hunger? I don't know why it's so random though. I haven't had a single complication since surgery.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
