flintstone v. centrum chewables

Recommended Posts

I just compared my bottle of flintstone Vitamins (which the label says to only chew 1 tablet for adults) to Centrum chewables and there is VERY little difference in the supplement amounts. So I'm curious why they say to take 2 flintstones for adults, and also why (I saw on another thread) that their nutritionist said to trade in their flintstones for a Vitamin for grown-ups.

I think it's just personal preference. I like the taste of Centrum more so that's the one I take (just one).

I take a liquid multi Vitamin from whole foods. It's easier and I remember. I hate the grit in chewables.< /p>

I thought it might be the Iron also, but they both have 18 mg. The only thing I see that is completely different are the last 3 ingredients in Centrum which are manganese (50%), chromium(17%), and molybdenum (17%). I've never heard of any of these but I will discuss this again with my doctor next time I see him.

I take flinestone's w/ Iron. My dietician specifically recommended them. They taste AWFUL, almost like blood... as strange as that sounds.

you may want to try the viactive chocolate, they come in Multivitamin and Calcium. I take after meals so its like a little dessert, very little.

I don't take chewables at all mainly because the only ones you can get here are for kids. They don't have a huge range for wls patients here in australia so I take the Centrum (non chewable) and have no problem at all. I was taking one called supradyn but straight after surgery it was taking me until 1pm to drink it so I gave up and took the centrum. Eventually though I know I'm going to have to find a chewable or another soluble, especially if I'm too tight in the morning.

I was also told either 2 Centrum or 4 Flinstones a day.

I just found a small Vitamin to take. IT is called one a day essentials. IT is no bigger than an aspirin. They just arrived in the mail today (had to order them from Amazon.com since no stores seem to carry them). I plan to show them to my nut and doc to see what they say. IF they like them maybe they will either stock them or get a local pharmacy to stock them.

I switch off between several different chewables. My favorite is Trader Joe's Gummy Multivitamin. I really like the taste. It doesn't contain Iron.< /p>

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
