Digital scale--recommendations?

Recommended Posts

If you have a Bed Bath and Beyond they have a large selection to try out. The one I picked had a very large read out and was $34.00 minus a 20% coupon.

Good luck.

I have to say TANITA. That's the brand many WW sites use, that's the brand of the pricey one at my surgeon's office, and that's the brand I have. Mine weighs to 440 and is super accurate. You know how they say "if you get on a digital scale and weigh, then get off and then get back on it will weigh differently"? Mine NEVER does.

My husband and I test it from time to time with some weights he has and it is ALWAYS right. never varies.

Mine are Tanita HD 351 and they are on Amazon right now for about 85 (I've had mine 3 years and paid 65 for them; so worth it)

but if you don't need a scale that goes to 440 (thank God I don't anymore) then most any tanita brand will be reliable and accurate.

Good luck!

I have this scale from HoMedics (bought it at BB&Beyond) and I love it. I can step on and off it 10 times and it always shows the same exact weight.

I also really love it that it gives me my weight by 10th of a pound. It's nice to see even small progress. Plus, I love it that the scale is so accurate. After years on a scale that could vary 3-5 lbs within 30 seconds, it's nice to see a number and know it's real!

BTW, HoMedics has some cheaper scales than this one -- I just got this one b/c I wanted it to go with my bathroom. I don't use all of the features on it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
