Did anyone lose weight with the 1st fill?

Recommended Posts

Yep only 2. I got the first one 06/01/2009 and the second 06/09/2009 I was banded 04/16/2009 then had complications. So, I had another surgery 04/24/2009. They are quickly trying to find my sweet spot since I had problems. But I am fine now and feel great.

OK Sugga. I might be a little slow here. Did you lose 18-21 pounds since 6/9/09?

17 to be exact. I work out 5 times a week 1.5 to 2 hours a day.

Wow! I am really impressed. I'm glad to hear that all is well with you since you had complications. :bored: Thanks for replying to my post.

I just came back from getting my first fill after surgery. The NP gave me 1cc. I was told the surgeon had given me 2 ccs during surgery. We will see how it goes this next 4 weeks. I do not feel any restriction at all. Hopefully it will kick in later today. I'm on liquids for the next 3 days. This will give me a chance to try the nectar Protein samples.< /p>

CONGRATS on your 1st fill. Restriction will come, as previously stated everyone is so different. I had my first and only fill January 09 (2.4cc) and lost 45 lbs. I just went today for my 2nd fill because I have not really been restricted over the past 2 months. I actually ate way more than what I usually eat over the past 2 months but I didn't gain any weight or lose any weight. So with this 2nd fill I anticipate losting the remaining 35 lbs. Good luck!!

Thanks Unique. Your weight loss is impressive as well. All of you are really helping me with this phase of the journey. I expected to wake this morning and feel some restriction. My doctor told me the band is tighter in the morning. He said I may not get liquids down. Well to my dismay, the Water went down just fine. Luckly, I have exercise to help me through this month. I started a 50 mile challenge for the month of July. The exercising will probably keep me sane while I wait for restriction.

Thank you to everyone that contributed to this thread. I am going for my first fill on June 30th and am really looking forward to that "full" filling again. All of the post-surgical swelling is gone and even though I lost an incredible 19lbs since surgery on May 18th I seem to be stuck there. I am hoping for a jump start after the fill. Good luck to all and I will look forward to reading more posts to this thread.

Hi Bill. How are you today? Were you able to get your fill yesterday?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
