Well, you started a thread - and that's the hardest part... You can be sure you have all your information in the User CP so people can send you PM's (private messages) and e-mails. Folks pretty much chat by appointment only...

If you have specific things you want to read about - click on search (above) and type in a key word or two. It will bring up all the threads that mention the key words.

Welcome!

Top left of this screen - on the blue bar it says "User CP". I would have to guess, but I am assuming CP is Customer Profile - that would be you.

If you double click on that, it brings up a screen where you can put in a signature and an avatar and some information about you so any member can check you out.

Just play around in there - it's pretty user-friendly.

:]

I think I'm getting there -- I have a snowman now ;) My status is that I am awaiting the appt with the surgeon . Have been in a bariatric program for 3 months now. All I need now is a surgery date!

Party on, Fellow Bandsters. And if you have actual pictures of yourselves, we selfishly request that you use those for your avatars.

Click on Edit Avatar (in User CP) and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There should be a blank dot next to the words "use custom avatar". Click it and browse for your photo.

Photo sizing/cropping is out of my experience. I got Penni60/Penni Merrick to help me with that. :]

Gotta fly, folks. It has been a long day and it's time for me to head on outta here.

Talk to Y'all tomorrow.

IF you got a pic you want to be made into an Avatar then send it to Penni60@aol.com and I will take care of it for you.

I will also send you directions on how to add the pic as well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
