ummmmmmm, sex after banding?

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I hope this is an ok question to ask, because my husband is asking how long he will have to wait. I will say, he did ask my DR. and Dr. said, the same night! I find this VERY hard to believe and am not sure if my DR. was messing around with him or not. So, if it is ok, I was just wondering how long it was before you were feeling up to it? No details, lol!!! Just how long after surgery did you wait?? My band date is 6-17-09!:w00t:

I was thinking my doctor said 2 weeks .. but I am not sure. I was banded on Feb 6th. I was too sore around the port to have it before then anyway.

My doc said to wait 4 weeks, but I think it just depends on how comfortable you are.

you won't want sex for at least a month (in my own experience)! I can't believe your doc said the same night ( I don't think that's a good idea at all, and i'm not a doc, but that just sounds painful)! good luck

I didn't ask my Dr. directly, but my hospital discharge papers specifically noted that 'sexual activity' is allowed. I'm on day 5 and definitely up to it, my husband is the one saying we should wait until my healing is further along, he's afraid of hurting me.

This is a weird question, but did anyone lose their sex drive as their weight continued to go up, and did anyone gain their drive back after they started losing weight with their band?

Speaking as a woman, I will answer this with YES, sex drive went out the window when the fat packed on. Nobody wants to be seen naked being heavy, especially not women. You want to feel sexy, pretty, and desirable and you don't feel that way being overweight. I haven't lost enough (still in the waiting process for banding) to feel any different YET. Am hoping as the weight comes off and I start feeling sexy again, the drive will return. However, I am not in my 20s, 30s or 40s, so that could have something to do with it too.

I was told a week later, and thats what we did..... I've found that I have NO drive the past 2 weeks, and Ladies, I learned this from inquiring with both my doc & my fellow banditos, As we lose weight, the estrogen that was stored in our fat is now released into the wild making us hormonal nightmares.... According to my doc (gyn) it's very common to "go into heat" 1 week, and completely change your direction the next, So basically when the moment comes, go for it. Also, I know a few cats that actually feel their ports move during, I didn't experience that at all.

/ Interesting about the estrogen stored in the fat; never heard that before. Should prove fun!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
