New NSV's for me!!!

Recommended Posts

I was kindof bummed this morning, as I started the Fall Weightloss Challenge last week, and my first weeks performance was a horific 2lb GAIN. Say what??? I know why I gained, so I guess I just need to work on my eating behaviors, and I'm going in for a fill today too. Despite the reappearance of these 2lbs, I am celebrating my overall achievement since being banded.

This morning I was looking for something a bit dressy to wear to the office. I tried on a great black & teal suit that I've had for a few years. I used to just wear the jacket and pants since the camisole was tighter than the skin on a sausage. Not only are the jacket and pants too big, but I could slip the camisole on without unzipping it, and it was so loose that it looked terrible. Yay! Then, for kicks, I decided to try on another suit, and once again, too big! So I opted for a nice plaid skirt that used to be soo tight that 1. I'd have to ask my hubby to zip it for me, while I sucked in my gut and pulled tight on fabric to give him enough slack to let it zip, and 2. it was so tight that it would bunch at the waist leaving about an inch of the lining showing at the bottom. Well, I am happy to say that I pulled it on this morning....you read it right, PULLED, not even unbuttoned or unzipped! It's not too big to wear, but there is definately a differance from before.

I just wanted to share these motivating discoveries. Thanks for reading!

Congrats Corinne! I am so happy for you! Where is the pic???? I know how exciting it is to get in to some clothes from the past. I have my sites zero'ed in on a red psuedo suede skirt with matching jacket size 20 that I used to wear all the time. It is a short little number that always made my confidence skyrocket when I wore it.

Corrine,

Great going!!!!! There's not a worse feeling in the world to try on a new outfit and it doesn't fit, but then there's no better feeling than trying on something that didn't fit and have it be too big or fit juuuusst riiiight!!!

I am so very happy for you and thank you for sharing your inspiring NSV. It has made my day and I will think of you whenever I choose anything to eat in the future.

Way to go!!!!! The band works!!!!!!!

Cindy

That's fabulous! 50 lbs. is nothing to sneeze at! That's a huge change and its good you're feeling rewarded in ways other than the scale!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
