Full.... And it feels GREAT

Recommended Posts

Literally, as I write this, I just put down a bowl of oatmeal with half the bowl still full. because I AM FULL (and kind of nauscious) I never thought in a million years I would ever say this, but it's the most amazing feeling in the world to just STOP and push the bowl away. and not contemplate finishing it. I am done. :) god bless science!

Hey Sarah,

I am really surprised you are already on oatmeal. I was banded the day after you and I am not supposed to have musies for at least 3 WEEKS! UGGH!! June 12th to be exact, but whose counting? I'm on creamy Soups, Protein drinks (which I HATE) and I did sneak in a pudding cup today... I figured if there aren't any 'obstacles' I should be ok. I am STARVING for real food. It always boggles me how there are so many varieties of diets post op.... you'd think they'd all be the same, ya know?

Everyone's post op diets are different. I was on liquids for three days, pureed foods for four days, now am on soft foods till a month out from surgery.

I too, Sarah, am amazed over how much less I can eat now. I had about two bites of a Breakfast burrito and was stuffed! I think the hardest part is not being able to drink while eating...I was always a "take a bite, take a sip" kind of gal, so this has been tough. But I'm still SO happy to have had this surgery and can't believe I'll eat even less when i get a fill!

Sa, I'm really surprised they're making you transition that severely. It's a build up. to solids. I'm stumped, and I'm sorry sweetie:frown:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
