i understand what you are going through. I had better restriction with fill #2 than #3 then too much with #4 and #5 took weeks after the fill to feel the effects. There's no rhyme or reason for how the fills affects us. Maybe it hasn't "hit" you yet but it will. I was about to call for another fill when on the 18th day post-fill I felt restriction. Just my experience.

Good luck

I believe there are two things going on. One, you always feel very tight right after a fill because it irritates your stomach a little and then when the swelling goes down you do not feel as tight. It on average takes 3 fills to start getting to the level you need to be at the "sweet spot" as people call it. Second, you may want to discuss this with you MD but I had to get the thicker gel saline substance in my band. I would feel tight and then feel like all the saline left overnight. My MD would take out the saline to measure it and sure enough some of it would just absorb into my body. This is common for some. Once I got the thick solution I never had that problem again. Remember to be patient because the band is slow weight loss!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
