Okay here's me in mumble mode....

I started at 365.5 im down to 277 this morning i was banded june 3rd of 08 i have one fill of 5cc's in my band. I dont really know if i should get a second fill (its this upcoming wednesday) I barely eat as it is. I probably take in 900-1000 calories a day sometimes less depending on my mood. I do 2 miles a day and 30 crunches after the workout. I dont eat past 6 pm. I'm at a loss i dont know what to do!!!! My weight has kinda stopped coming off, but when it does it'll go right back up to what i had lost the day before, its so irritating. Please help!! What would getting another fill help do? I dont think i can possibly eat less than i already am. HELP!!!!!!!

Weighing yourself daily is an exercise in futility. It means nothing. Your Water weight fluctuates more then the amount you could possibly lose. So it IS going to go up and down.

Nicolerose,

Maybe you need to start taking in a few more calories for awhile, sometimes that helps a plateau in weight loss - and only weigh yourself once a week. As far as the fill - do you feel like you are at your sweet spot or is it a lot of self control on your part to eat so little? I would at least go in to talk to your Dr. let them know what you're doing and see what they recommend.

Good luck - you are doing awesome!!

Wow, you have done great so far! Congratulations!

You don't need to eat less - you need to eat more! If you are walking 2 miles a day and doing crunches, your body needs much more than 900-1000 calories a day. The reason for the slow down in your weight loss is that your metabolism has adjusted to the amount of calories you are giving it. I have seen this in myself. I had been at a plateau for a while, gaining and losing the same few pounds. I started tracking my food at The Daily Plate, and the first thing that shocked me was the number of calories it said I needed to eat to lose 2 pounds a week - 1650 a day! I tracked for the first week, pretty much eating what I had been, and discovered that I was seldom getting even 1200 a day. So, for the next weeks my goal was to up my intake. I couldn't quite bring myself to go up to 1650, but I kept it between 1350 and 1450. I lost just under 2 pounds the first week and just over 2 pounds the second week!

Give it a try! Don't go overboard, but try adding 200-300 "good" calories each day. Your body will thank you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
