I've had my band for over a year now. Most days I throw-up after eating, and it's usually at least 3 times a day. However, I have recently been seeing small traces of blood in my throw-up. Has anyone else experienced this? What is the reason for this happening, and is it of serious concern?

Thank you,

Viki

Throwing up three times a day is serious concern enough. Add that you're throwing up blood and it becomes really concerning. You could have slippage or erosion going on. Talk to your doctor about it ASAP please. :cursing:

Uh yea. you shouldn't be throwing up 3 times a day. That's not good for you. Your band is probably too tight. Please make an appointment with your doctor and let him know what's going on. Good luck.

I think if you are throwing up blood you should go to the emergency room immediately and not wait for a doctor visit.

You shouldn't be throwing up three times a day. that has likely irritated your esophagus to the point that it bleeds. Please call your doctor ASAP and go see him! Somebody needs to get to the bottom of the issue soon.

Another voice for the "not good to throw up daily, let alone blood". You've probably ruptured a vessel in your esophagus. You do need to see your doc asap; from what I've read this type of thing is something that if you catch it early is no big deal and if you ignore it it can cause band removal. Take care of yourself!

Umm. not trying to be a jerk, but if I were throwing up everyday after eating - particularly three times a day - the last friggin thing I would be doing would be even logging onto my computer...

With that said - Good luck.

Viki - I would have to question why you thought throwing up 3 times a day was something to be tolerated and only became concerned when there was blood. If you've had the band for a year, I would assume that you understand how the band works. Did you ever discuss the throwing up with your doctor? If not, that was your first mistake. Your second mistake was not going to the emergency room when you started throwing up blood. I hope that you get this resolved and develop a better understanding of how the band works and what is normal. Pain, vomiting, reflux and heartburn are not part of the healthy band experience. Don't tolerate any of that to get to some number on the scale. Good luck and I hope you get well.

Throwing up even once a day, is not normal.

Throwing up blood is seriously not normal and very dangerous. Please get thee to a doctor ASAP!!!

I'm hoping because you haven't posted again today, that means you got to your doctor or an emergency room. Please let us know how you are doing and what happened.

Take care and best wishes!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
