3 Days out I realllllly felt like nachos for some reason lol, now all I actually feel like is a chicken sandwich lol. As for things I'll miss - spaghetti, I'm italian, I love it. Risotto. Fried Rice. As for mcdonalds - it'll always be a fav but my sister works at mcdonalds and told me that if I want a cheese burger just wait til she finishes and she'll make it for me lol - dunno whether I'll be able to eat it but oh well. She said she'll just grill the bun heaps and add heaps of ketchup lol, I love her. But even then I'll probably only be able to manage half of it.

It's o.k... The moron, I am, Went to my fav deli yesterday for the best consumme on the east coast.. 1st time I ever went in there and didn't buy the best pickles on the east coast.... Hubby went to BK last night, So as*hole me, decided I can chew the pickles from his burger to get the flavor and then spit it out.... Well out of reflex, I swollowed a nano-chunk and had hell to pay alll night. So, my advice, FIGHT IT! just close your eyes and pretend. The pain is not worth it!

I'm 4 days post-op and decided to visit the "confessional" (like on reality tv shows?) again.

I'm not struggling or feeling desperate or hungry, but I had a wistful thought today and briefly mourned my ability to eat frosted strawberry pop tarts.... and cinnamon/sugar Auntie Anne pretzels with cream cheese dipping sauce.

You will be able to eat a quarter of a toasted pop-tart in a few weeks, as for the pretzel.... yeah thats a tuffy. BUT My sister who is the weight watchers goddess, has a recipe for cream cheese dipping sauce thats got like 1 gram of fat & no sugar!! and you can not tell the difference! so when I have the strength (as in major food weakness to overcome) to get that recipe I'll share it

I'm a comfort food type of gal. Deserts don't bother me at all. My number one food that I will miss is mac n' cheese. I hope I will eventually be able to enjoy it in extreme moderation. Number 2 missed food will be Friday night pizza.

Did someone say we can't have spicy???? Say it isn't so. I love hot sauce on just about everything. I will miss that severly if I'm not able to have it!!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
