I just have to tell someone......

Recommended Posts

I understand the need to tell someone. My wife and I are going through it together. She is down to a size 12, and I am now buying 36 pants and Large shirts vs 42 and XXL. Being able to tell somone is one of the nicer parts of this forum. Very few people get tired of hearing it.

I was out today shopping for a new dress for a wedding. I went into Macy's and was looking at some dress when I see a dress I really like a lot. The colors where great looking on me but here is the biggest news that I just gotta tell some one. I tried on a 20 thinking this was the size I was in but nope so I went down to an 18 and this one was too big as well. So my mom got the same dress in an 16 and it fit! I just could not believe that a 16 actually fit me. I was so happy that I started to dance right in the dressing room. I have not seen this size since my youngest daughter was born in 1986. Yep that is right 1986 over 20 years ago. :cursing: I just had to tell someone else besides my mom and DH. He also said I am looking so good and keep it up.

Let me tell you, this brought a tear to my eye, because I know that this is such a big deal for you and for all of us! I am post op 4 days and already feeling great, well except for the gas and stuff, but I took a pic and posted on my Facebook and everybody was like WHOA! and thats just 17lbs lighter than before! Congrats, dear and I can't wait to do the same dance! :cursing:

Congratulations, you will look absolutely WONDERFUL at the wedding :cursing: Just think how comfortable you will be showing off your new dress and your new figure. What a difference from the days when we just wore whatever we didn't feel too horrible in. :cursing:

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
