CANCER is a very scary word. I remember when my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1999 I cried! I don't care who you are...it is scary. Just realize that it is not a death sentence and many many times breast cancer patients are SURVIVORS!! I will pray for your mother and for you! I hope that you have a relationship with God because He is a God of peace even in times of trouble!

"You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you!" Isaiah 26:3

Many Blessings,

Cheri

Warm wishes to you and your mom from here too. I can't say I've been through it, but I also think the waiting would just be the worst.

Keep us posted.

*hugs* Estela. You and your family will be in my prayers.

My sister-in-law has just gone through 6 treatments of chemo and we're now in the waiting stages, to find out if it worked. The not knowing is nerve wrecking!

Please keep us posted and take care of yourself.

Hi Sweetie,

I was wondering what had happened. I'm so terribly sorry to hear that it is this serious and of course my prayers and good thoughts go out to you and your whole family. My Mom had a similar experience last year, but thank God, the tumor was benign. She got over that and another one showed up this year, and again it was benign. Remember there is always hope. Keep the faith and know we are all here for you.

Cindy

I dont know if our own stories can help you cope with your own. My own mother had malignant mass in her side the size of a very large grapefruit. Dr's said she had a 20% chance of making it through this. This was 14 years ago, and she is here with us now. Medicines and doctors are miracle workers. You and your mom are in my prayers.

My thoughts are with you and your family. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in February. She caught it early, thank God, and she's finishing up her treatment this week...She's actually coming with me on Friday when I will get banded. Early detection is Key. Good luck to you........the anticipation is terrible, I know.

Estela, I too went through having a lump removed from my breast. I know what your mother is going through right now. Please tell her for me that there is no heartache or pain that Jesus cannot heal! He was with her before the biopsy and he is with her now. The results I pray in Jesus' name will be benign! You are a wonderful daughter!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
