Keri,

No the thread is for anyone who either has lost over 100 pounds or still needs to, just a support/encouragement type thread. I know I can always use extra encouragement on a daily basis.

I just have to say that whey I need a little pick me up this is a great place to be. I don't really know where I want my weight to be but I know I have over 100 pounds to loss since I started @ 316.8. I have set my first goal at 180 don't know why just that it was a reachable number and under 200. So far in just over 4 months I have lost 60 pounds and this is the less I have weighed in years! I love that my clothes don't fit me anymore. I hate the idea of buying new thought. (Thats the give and take I guess) My wedding bands and mothers ring are almost too big for me. I flew for the first time in Sept since surgery and I didn't need a seat belt extender. I love thinking of NSV and this is the first time I have written them down somewhere. I guess there could be others but these are the ones that stick out in my mind.

Hope everyone is doing great and hang in there Brenda you will be losing again before you know it. Plus when you figure out what you need to do you can post it here and when we get stuck we can look at your advice. Here is what helps me now.... I write down EVERYTHING that goes in my mouth along with the calories. This keep me @ 1000 - 1200 calories a day plus it lets me know when I can reward myself for going so good. I don't exercise like I should I do walk everyday 20 - 30 mins at a time everyday though..I figure that is better then nothing. If someone can tell me how to get going I have a Y membership that isn't used but they offer great classes I just always make excuses. Anyway the other thing I do is I drink ALL my Water. the whole 64 oz....if I don't I can tell it really slows me down.

I can't wait to read more about everyone...lets keep this 100+ thread going!!!

Hey 100+ fellow bandsters, TGIF!!!

First off, Kim, welcome to the 100+ club. Thanks for your input and advice on how you work your band and diet strategies, etc.

I too am lax on the exercise part, very badly actually. My work keeps me so bogged down I don't feel like I have time to exercise, but I know it will help me get over this plateau, so next week I vow to start back to exercising. I have a Y membership being wasted as well but not after next week, I am just gonna mark it on my schedule to exercise as though it was an important appointment. I have to!! Please check on me and ask me daily if I have exercised, I need that kind of accountability.

Well after earlier in the week figuring out how I needed to write down everything that goes in my mouth, and recording it on Fitday.com, I have done that every and increased my Water intake to at least 100 oz of Water per day, I am happy to say I have lost 5 pounds this week!! Well, it might be just water weight but at least it is a start!! Maybe I am getting over the plateau?! I sure hope so, but the weekend is coming up and I have trouble then. I will try my hardest to continue my food diary over the weekend too, and increased water intake.

Sorry for the long post and thanks for posting here with me. Together we can do this!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
