Question for the ladies...

Is anyone having problems wearing a bra? One of my incisions falls right under my bra line. I tried wearing a jock bra today and it felt so tight and uncomfortable, I had to take it off. I have to go back to work tomorrow and I don't think I can fake it and get away without wearing a bra. I don't know what else to do! I'll take any suggestions!

I have the same problem too. It falls right where the middle of my bra rests. Today was my first day back to work and I had surgery on 4/21, so I think I had enough time to heal to where it didnt really bother me. I was very aware of it though.

Maybe try and cover it with some thick gauze?

I have an incision in the same place. It didn't really bother me too bad though. I did go out and buy a couple front closure bra's I dont know if thats why it didn't hurt or not. My surgery was on the 22nd and that incision is now healed over. Hopefully it won't be but a few days. Maybe if you get a front closure, you can not "close" the bottom hook so it wouldn't rub?????

I had the same problem and I just kept pushing the front middle of my bra (where the incision was) down all day so it wouldn't be resting right on the incision. That worked for me...

I happened to have one bra that didn't hit that incision spot. It was a front closer.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
