Bright News!

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

Just thought I'd post a message on behalf of Bright, who was admitted to hospital this evening in preparation for her banding on Tuesday morning.

It happens that I 'met' Bright on this board back in August and she is now due to be operated by the surgeon who put my band in here in France (near Paris).

Just wanted to say she's very nervous but excited all at the same time!

Will update you all on her progress over the next few days. If anyone wants to say hi to her this week, I'll be happy to pass your messages along!

That's it for now.......

Sarah

(Banded 5 Augst 03, down 30 lbs and counting!)

Wish Bright the best of luck and tell her I hope she finds use for her three pairs of flip-flops...it will help me decide in my packing!

Please let Bright know to walk as much as possible after surgery. She'll feel like a million bucks the day after!

Were all thinking of you Bright!

Hi folks!

Just to let you know that Bright was banded today at 2pm French time and I've just spoken to her by phone and she's awake and well!

Apparently her French is coming on apace and she even laughed at a dishy male nurse's joke as he put some more painkiller in her canula (as he injected the liquid he announced 'un aperitif Madame? with a wink)......

More news tomorrow when I see her - she's been thrilled with all your messages of support! Thanks!

Bye for now,

Sarah

Yay!!! Thanks so much Sarah for letting us know Bright is okay. Tell her that she should outrageously flirt as much as she wants - if her husband complains, she can always blame it on the pain meds. When is that ever going to happen again?!?! lol

Please send Bright love from her porn lover...

Sarah,

Tell Bright Welcome to the other side...and while you are there make sure she wears every pair of flip-flops she brought with...hate to see her pack and not use them!

Hi All

Many, many thanks for all your good wishes! Bright left hospital today and is now on her way back to Dublin. I'm sure she'll be on the board tonight or tomorrow to give you all an update!

Cheers,

Sarah

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
