No weight loss in 2 1/2 months!!!

Recommended Posts

I was banded in Oct 08 and lost 50lbs in the first 4 months. I think that was OK, but not great. I have not lost a single lb since I hit the 50 lb mark. I am not eating perfect by any means. I only drink Water or Crystal Light and never drink when I eat. I eat out ALOT though. I don't exercise either. I know that I haven't been taking advantage of this opportunity that I have been given and it makes me feel soo stupid. I know that it is a mental thing for me. It meant so much to me to hit 50lbs and then I immediatley started self sabotaging. I go to bed everynight saying that tomorrow will be different, then I hit McDonalds. I just need some encouragement. Please pray for God to inspire me to do what I need to do.

Thanks for letting me vent

Karen

Do you need a fill? That should help. I have always made excuses for not exercising but when I started the weight started to melt away. Start slow, add extra steps in your day. If you can't hit a gym just walk. Also you MUST keep a log of what you eat even when it has bad stuff in it. There are many on line tools that give you calorie and nutritional value for what you eat. I use the daily plate which is on livestrong.com Good luck and dont give up!

Karen, you obviously know that your band is not a magic potion and that you have to do your part. So start walking 30 minutes every day. Maybe on your lunch hour or before you go to work when it starts getting hot this summer. Be glad you've lost 50 and start working. You don't have to go to the gym for an hour a day. A good walking program truly is excellent exercise. After you've been doing 30 minutes a day, add to it. Take your dog/kid/significant other/neighbor! Having someone to walk with you makes it more fun.

I go into work right now at 6:30 am, but just got a promotion that goes into effect may 4th and then I will go in at 7:30. I work in a dr's office that has treadmills for cardiac rebab. I am going to try to come in at 7am at least 3 days a week to walk for 30min on the treadmill before I start work. And my goal is to go for a walk on weekends with my husband and daughter. I had an egg sandwich this morning on whole grain toast and couldn't quite finish half of it. For lunch I had a grilled chicken taco and a handfull of chips. When I follow the rules of no sauces and very solid foods I can eat alot less. I will do better.

Karen

Thank all of you for your motivation and support.

I think a small fill and a bit of exercise will knock you off that plateau. OR, you may need to increase your calories a bit. I have been pretty much stalled for almost two months and finally increased my calories by about 500 a day and I am losing again. I was not really even hitting 1000 per day and now I am doing well again.

Perhaps give that a try.

I was just going to say that it sounds like you neek a fill. I wish i could eat 1/2 of anything lol nope not going too happen... lol anyhoo this is the time that you would go in to get a fill is when your weight loss stalls... just like mine was i was stuck for like 3-weeks and i made an apt. got a fill and i have lost over 11 lbs in 2 weeks.. but another thing i have been walking or doing the stair master, or elliptical on my lunch break for the past 4mths and when i say that the weight will melt off like the other post says it WILL TRUST ME....

50 pounds seems to be the spot most stall.I stalled at about 60 pounds. It took a change in diet, what I mean is change up what you eat and how much you eat,it seems to trick your body back into loosing. If you are doing low card then change to low fat for awhile if you are walking then try to add some weight lifting or dance, swimming just something to make some changes.Just as you get bored I think our body does too.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
