I am three weeks post op tomorrow and feeling a bit disheartened, I weigh in again on Friday but I sneaked a weigh and it seems as though I have put on a kg. Makes me feel anxious and worried. The hunger has come back and I also need to acknowledge that I have been making not fantastic food choices. I have been sticking with the right consistency and portion sizes but I have been making unwise choices thinking that because the portion was small it wouldn't all add up. Makes me scared that I have done all this and now I am stupidly thinking it was going to be easier. I am just having a bit of a freak out, logically though I know that it must work and I can make wise choices and that it will be much easier after my next fill when I am not hungry any more. Just need the strength to undo this damage and I NEED TO FEEL LIKE THIS CAN HAPPEN!!!!! I have been back to the gym this week, monday and today - which is great and good for the mood too. I am sure that this weight is really from last week of my time off (week 2 postop) where I was depressed and sitting on my butt....

Hard to admit to this on here, but you cannot change what you don't acknowlege!

Linling - I am so there with you. I am just over 2 weeks post op and my doc said that I could start gradually adding "regular" food back into my diet and I am worried about the choices I make, too. After all, that is what my problem was before. I too think that b/c I am eating less, it is ok...perhaps it is, but I do want to make good choices, too.

Hang in there, first fills are around the corner.

By the way - I bought a book from Amazon.com called Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery: Over 140 Delicious Low-Fat High-Protein recipes to Enjoy in the Weeks, Months and Years After Surgery. I am hoping to find some good recipes to help me with food choices.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
