Fast Approaching 1 Year Bandiversary!

Recommended Posts

Can you believe it May Flowers / Shrinko De Mayo's- our 1st year bandiversary is fast approaching. I think it would be nice for us to check in and update us all on our progress so far....

My bandiversary is 5/23 and so far I am down 121 lbs but am hoping to be down 125 by the 23rd. I will check in again closer to then

As for my band- this was the best decision I have ever made! I am finally able to be me! For years I was so misserable I even dreaded leaving the house.

My doc, Dr. Fielding of NYU was banded himself and at the very first seminar I attended he said that I will stop thinking about food the way I always had. It wasn't going to run my life anymore.

I never thought that would really be the truth, I honestly thought it was a sales pitch. But it is so true. It's almost unexplainable to people who have not been through what we have.

I can't eat alot of the things that I used to love but ya know what? It doesn't matter anymore. My pants are SMALLER, LOL!

So no matter how close I am or how far away I am from my goal, I know that I am getting there and I have no regrets!

:thumbup:Congradulations on your weightloss. My Band Anniversery is May 28th and I'm down 80lbs. I was hoping to be down 100lbs by my anniversary, however that isn't going to happen. I was in Walmart Sunday and thought I'm going to try on something in the regular sizes not the Plus section, and I was so excited that I could actually wear something in that section. I'm with you this was the best decision I've ever made and I have no reqrets!!

I had someone ask me the other day how I lost the weight and when I told them she informed me that I cheated and that I lost it the easy way! At first I was kind of upset but then I thought you know I have battled with my weight since I was 10 years old, and have tried almost every diet out there and I would lose 10 gain 20 and at 39 yrs old I decided that I was tired of fighting a losing battle since I had no willpower the Band was my best option. I didn't have a problem with eating the right foods I had a problems with Portion Control So the Band was the best choice for ME.

Sorry about my rambling!!! Keep up the good work!!

People suck , don't they? Right now I am dealing with a friend who texts or calls me with these rediculous statements without considering my feelings.

She texted me just yesterday saying she was looking a pic's from a b'day party we recently went to and said (and i quote) "I am looking at pictures of us at my mom's party and I am twice your size! I hate you, stop losing weight"

I ignored it because how am I supposed to respond to that??? She has also said jokingly that she hated me for losing so much weight cause now she's the big girl of our group of friends.

WTF????

It will be a year for me the 22nd. I have lost slow, but I don't care, I am just happy that I have spent a year losing instead of gaining! The holidays were really tough for me this year and I didn't lose anything for about 3 months. But I have really kicked up my exercise and I am losing again. I totally understand where you all are coming from about other people's comments. No one at work knows I have the band and I heard one coworker say what a bitch I was to have lost so much weight! I couldn't believe she said that! I used to be the biggest girl in the office, but not anymore!

Today is my 1yr bandiversary!!! I have lost 98.2 lbs and feel FANTASTIC!!! Happy Bandiversary to all that had their surgery today as well. I am sooooooo happy that I chose this surgery. I would recommend it to anyone. It feels great to be able to wear 16W and not 28W. I saw someone at church this weekend that I haven't seen in a year and she was in awe. All she kept saying was "Oh My God, Oh My God". :Banane01: That to me is the best when I get the reactions from people I haven't seen since my surgery. Have a wonderful day everyone!!! :Banane33:

Carrie_C,

I try to never eat sweets, unless, it is a holiday or a special occasion. I keep track on my calories and Protein using "livestrong.com", "My Plate". I try not to eat more than 1400 calories a day and have at least 70g of protein. The protein helps keep your metobolism working well. And I watch my carbs. I do eat some carbs but I do avoid Mashed potatoes, rice, Pasta and sweets. I have noticed eating too little (under 1000 calories) for an extend time will really slow my weight loss. I do not regularly exercise. When school is out I will start walking and get on a schedule with my eliptical. I hope this helps! And 50 + pounds lost is nothing to be sad about!!!!

Hppy Bandiversary, Michelle! What an accomplishment! I am sure that you look and feel great. Be proud of yourself! You will be young, and lighter, and full of life! Woo-hoo!

I got my band three days ago and am still uncomfortable from the surgery process - bloated and a bit stiff. However, I will press on because I want to be there when my sons (ages 12 and 14) get married and graduate grad school, and I want to go to Paris with my husband, and I want to read every book...

Michelle, I went to the diet ticker site and picked out a ticker, but I do not know how to attach it to my profile. Could you help? I enjoy looking at peoples' tickers, and I think that it might help me along, too.

Thanks!

Maureen

Hi Maureen,

Congrats on the start of your new life! You will be FAB!

OK, so for the ticker:

  • Go to User CP on LBT
  • Select 'Edit Signature'
  • In another window, go to www.ticker factory.com
  • Select 'Weight Loss' and create your ticker.
  • When your done, copy the 'bb Code'.
  • Paste it in the signature box on LBT. Preview to be sure it looks right then save.
  • GOOD LUCK!!!

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE ON OUR BANDIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My ticker is wrong....I made it into ONEderland but only because I had irritation and couldn't eat.....so I had an unfill in April and still haven't gotten all the Fluid back in yet. But everything is fine, no slips, and no more issues with eating!

I am down about 70 pounds in 1 year and although I got depressed for a little while about getting sick and needing an unfill, I am not changing my ticker because I know soon I'll be back to 81 lbs gone and back to ONEderland!!! I have been gone from the forums for a while, mostly because I was ashamed of gaining 10lbs back, but I'm better now I think. I went to the gym today and did an hour on the treadmill and I hadn't been to the gym in months. So I'm getting back on track now that my life is less hectic and I wish all of you, including me, continued success!!!! Let's get sexi-ER!!!!!! :-)

Hi Y'all! It's been a while since I've been in this thread group, but it looks like most of us are plugging right along.

I'm at goal now............my 1 year bandiversay was May 7th. Weighing in around 150 lbs or so. (5"7") and would like to lose 10 more but if that doesn't happen am perfectly fine with where I am now. Which is about a 90 lb loss over the year.

Soooooo glad I decided to take the plunge and go for the band. I feel great and buying those size 10 or 12 clothes is exilerating!

Congrats to all of us!!!! Isn't it amazing what a difference a year can make????

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
