  1. Hi Smartiegirl, This is Haileesmommy ( I finely remembered my original username) Well after a long lecture on how I have to work the band and almost not giving me fill because I didn't bring in my weekly weight charts, he finely gave in and gave me one. I had a break down while I was there when I was telling him about why I hadn't been working the band. My Little man was born with Down Syndrome and with that has come alot of worry and stress and some other personnal issues in our family the band and my weight loss was not my biggest concern, so because of all that he said that he was giving me a get out of jail free card. I have to bring in my weight charts and show that I am working the band and sticking to the band rules or he will not give me another fill. The more I thought about it after I left there, he was right, why keep filling me if I'm not going to give it 110%, he knows that I know how to work it with my previous weightloss success. Sorry I unloaded on you, I needed to vent. I have been doing the same thing you have eating to fast and not chewing my food as much as I should. My Little girl used to tell me to chew chew chew and when you think your done chew some more. She told me today that she would remind me everytime we sat down to eat. She is my little food police (she is almost 7). Let me know how you are doing on your weightloss journey. Cogradulations on your Little one
  2. Hope everything with your surgery went well!! Dr Lusco did my surgery May 28 2008. I can't say enought about that group of Doctors or the St Mary's Bariatric team! Good luck with the band. I've lost 93lbs, this was the best decision I have ever made!!!!
  3. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they covered everything but Dr visit co-pays. I highly recommend Dr Lusco! I had my surgery May 28, 2008. Dr Lusco, Lana and Debbie with the Bariatric team are wonderful!!!
  4. :juggle: Congrats to your entry to ONEDERLAND!!! I am 2lbs away from onederland and can't wait to get there. I was in high school (that was 22 years ago) the last time I was under 200. I had my surgery on May 28 2008 and I am down 93bs. I was supposed to go in for a fill in August however I still have restriction so I think I will wait. Hopefully I will see you in onderland here very soon!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK:thumbup:
  5. :thumbup:Congradulations on your weightloss. My Band Anniversery is May 28th and I'm down 80lbs. I was hoping to be down 100lbs by my anniversary, however that isn't going to happen. I was in Walmart Sunday and thought I'm going to try on something in the regular sizes not the Plus section, and I was so excited that I could actually wear something in that section. I'm with you this was the best decision I've ever made and I have no reqrets!! I had someone ask me the other day how I lost the weight and when I told them she informed me that I cheated and that I lost it the easy way! At first I was kind of upset but then I thought you know I have battled with my weight since I was 10 years old, and have tried almost every diet out there and I would lose 10 gain 20 and at 39 yrs old I decided that I was tired of fighting a losing battle since I had no willpower the Band was my best option. I didn't have a problem with eating the right foods I had a problems with portion control So the Band was the best choice for ME. Sorry about my rambling!!! Keep up the good work!!
  6. Im at 26lbs gone since pre-op I had my surgery May 28th. I was scheduled for my second fill on July 22, however i had a unexpected surprise I was pregnant. I cancelled the fill of course and actually only fluctuated about 2lbs back and forth. :whatchutalkingabout This past weekend I started to misscarry. We were totally devistated, I've been Preg. 5 times and have 1 precious 4 year old. I have found in the past if I focus on other things it gets me through the sadness. 4 yr olds tend to ask alot of questions when they see mommy crying. I'm going to call Monday and get an appointment for my fill. Maybe focusing an my weight loss will help. Sorry I didn't intend on unloading all this on this particular thread. You all are doing great keep up the good work!!!
  7. I also have anthem BCBS, and mine was covered. I agree with Kegette, your employer is probably the reason it is excluded. Good Luck!
  8. I was also scared before my 1st fill, however it was painless. My 1st fill was Monday and he put 2.6cc in my band. I'm still on liquids until 3pm today so we will see how much restriction I have when I eat dinner tonight.:tt1:
  9. I have to agree Dr Lusco was wonderful and the St mary's bariatric staff were beyond wonderful. I have Anthem and all I had to pay was my specialist co-pay of 30.00. They are in network with Anthem. I am 2 weeks post-op and have no complaints. I wish I had done this sooner. Good Luck with the journey.
  10. Congrats:thumbup: I was also banded on May 28th Ive lost 15lbs. I lost 10lbs on pre-op diet and 5 after. It sounds like our post-op diets are different I was on clear liquids for 2 days and 5 days on full liquids. Im now on mushies for a week and then soft for 2 weeks. Im hoping that I'm retaining water because of that time(Sorry TMI). Keep up the good work.
  11. I have lost 15 lbs. :lol:10 lbs from my pre-op and 5lb since my surgery. Pre-op May 21st surgery May 28th
  12. Im being banded the same day!! It will be here before we no it!!!! Good luck!!!
  13. Boy am I glad this day is over!! This was day 5 of my 7 day pre-op diet. I had a graduation party to go to and it was very hard to have the will power not to cheat! Somehow I made it through, and just ate the SF jello, broth and vegi's I brought. :lol:Im very proud of myself. Just 2 days left and I cant wait!!!! My band date is May 28th. Goodluck everyone:thumbup:
  14. Yea!!! I actually made it through day 1 of my pre-op diet without cheating!!! This is a miracle!! I work at Church on Wed. nights so usually I stop and get the kids and myself something to eat when I get of from my Full-time job. I thought about just getting them something to hold them over till we got home. My husband boycotted that idea and said just stop and get them something from Mc Donalds. I Love Mc Donalds, well I was a good girl I had 2 side salads (i'm allowed 2 servings of raw vegi's) with no dressing. It was not as hard as I thought it would be to watch them eat those yumming fries. I hope the next 6 days are easy:thumbup:
  15. I don't start my pre-op diet until Wednesday, but my friend lost 10lbs on her pre-op diet. I'm only required to do a 7 day diet thank goodness!! I'm stocking up on the sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles. I had to go to 3 stores to find the Carnation no-sugar added breakfast drink in Chocolate. I just keep telling myself this is all going to be worth it!!:leaving:
