Anyone have trouble/get stuck with fingernails?

Recommended Posts

I had a fill a week ago and was fine, but the last few days have been bad. I bite my nails, and am worried that they might not go through. It kind of feels like there is something plugging me up. I guess my question is, Has anyone had this problem due to biting fingernails?

I've heard of nail-biters, but I had no idea people swallowed that stuff. I figured most spit it out. Maybe you should try that.

oh my.. sorry but that is gross..lol..

i cant imagine it would get stuck unless your biting big chunks ?

habits are hard to break, can you not paint your nails with that horrible taste thing stops you from biting them? or reward yourself to manicures for losing weight?

I really can't imagine such a habit. I have seen people who have this habit real bad....I suggest talking to a doctor about different ways they can help you with your anxiety or whatever it is that is making you do this.

Hey, how much Protein is there in a finger nail???????? Just kidding!!!!!

Everything is fine now, guess I was just too tight for a couple days, and was curious. Thank you to those of you that actually tried to offer advice, and to the rest of you~ You might try NOT making fun of peoples bad habits, I'm sure that you all have some that are not so pleasant.

As a fellow nail biter, I have to say thank you for asking this question.

While yes it is a bad habit, so is smoking, gambling and judging other people for their bad habits.

I have always been a biter, and even getting artificial nails won't do the trick.

I am not a fan of Mary Kay products in general (mostly for political reasons) but her nail care line is mega fantastic. It's a 5 step program that really works. If you use the products religiously until your nails grow out from the base to the tip they are like little pieces of steel. You can't bite them. You can use them as tools. (not that you SHOULD but you CAN)

I usually have very long nails and they are all mine, not fake. It's Mary Kay products that allow me to have mega long nails that rarely break. If one breaks I cut them all off to be the same length. But usually I go for months and months with long nails.

Something worth trying. Pretty hands are nice to have. Long nails make great tools. ;o)

I used to be a horrible nail biter FOREVER!! Until...I got banded. Weird huh? I think I was afraid of swallowing them. What's funny is my husband had no idea I swallowed them either, he figured I spit them out. YES it's gross but whatevs!! For me, not biting them has been one of the best side effects possible! Good luck!!

And NO, that nasty tasty $hit DOES NOT work, but I'm sure you know that already!! Might try the Mary Kay idea though, thanks!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
