Hey All,

Was banded on the 24th, down 22lbs from highest weight. Pretty happy with that , but now am really starting to get hungry. Don't have my first fill until the 11th of May and I have this feeling I am only going to get more hungry until then. So, a little nervous! Still thrilled with the fact that I did this and am changing my life style. I can at this point eat most foods, try to really watch protions and calories. Hope to feel some restriction after fill. Still sore and surgery was not a piece of cake for me, had a few unexpected complications, BUT I am getting there. Glad to hear you all are doing well too.:)

Hi,

I feel pretty good, but I am feeling hungry in between my meals. I called my Dr. and they said to up my Protein. That is helped some but not alot. I have my first fill on April 29th. I lost 30 lbs before my surgery, 10 lbs the first two weeks or postop and nothing the last two weeks. Ugh! My Dr. said this is normal before a fill, but I hate not losing anything.

LifeStartsNow - Great post! I loved reading it and enjoyed all the info.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Silly Goose. I was starting to think people would think I'm totally nuts and blabbing on too much.:) They still might - I seriously didn't mean for it to be such a long post! Thanks again for making me feel a little better lol!....

RockinMom - impressive that you can exercise such great self control. I was banded on the 9th and I'm not doing as well as you in Portion Control. I almost felt panicked - like I would never get to eat certain things again and I'm still doing the emotional eating thing. Mostly when I'm stressed. I do great at work, its when I get home that its the problem. I've had too much easter chocolate. I need to get back on the wagon. Good luck going back to work - you'll do great there b/c you're doing so well at home!

I am almost 1 month post op, and I have lost 18 lbs since surgery and 38 total, but 2 lbs keep coming back and leaving again. I gotta stop weighing myself all the time, and stick to once a week. I am eating all mushies, basically living on tuna or chicken from a can and avocados, and yogurt. I have been starting to throw some vegies in there too though. I have no restriction but yet I can feel satisfied right now with this little bit of foods. Very strange, I have this strange sense of calm and well being knowing that I have the band and I will be able to rely on it to tell me that I am full and to stop eating. I hope I can keep this feeling after my first fill on 4/28.

I have been on real food for almost a week now but today I really ate "normal food". I noticed that I was cooking my broccoli to mush like when I was on mushies so I cooked my broccoli normal and cut up some chicken breast and ate it like normal and I was plesantly suprised- I FELT SOME RESTRICTION!!! I could only eat half of my meal and I was very full! I think I really need to get away from all the mushy food and I think I will feel more restriction. I didn't even realize I was doing it, I just thought to myself "hey I dont have to cook everything to death anymore".

Anyways, I am very excited that I felt some restriction today and I am looking forward to more :)

Good for you Jennibells! I find myself still doing the very same thing. I have no restriction anymore and I need a fill I think. I had some restriction and had a very hard time eating chicken and eggs but this week I've had no problems at all. I'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can get a fill scheduled before I go out of town next week. I kind of wanted to hold off if I could but I'm realizing that I'm slipping back into old bad habits, feel hunger, and can eat anything. I liked the feeling where I didn't think about food at all and I want that back! :)

I had my first fill on Monday. I'd been able to eat normally and usually kept portions in control, but know a couple times I had more than I should have. After the fill, could tell what they mean by restriction. Back to normal today, can eat regular foods but do get full quicker. Looking forward to 2nd fill in two weeks.

Overall, doing fine, down 39 pounds. 27 pre-op, 12 post op.

Hi all,

I got banded on 03/11/09. So far, I am down 41 1/2 from my highest weight. Suppose to get my first fill next week. But had a call today and the doctor needs to reschedule. So I am not sure when it will be done. I really dont know if I am eating enough. But I havent gotten to hungry. The only problem I am having is with my back especially the middle and upper back.

CONGRATS Rdy!!!!

You are doing FABULOUS...I hope you have a wonderful getway...keep in mind I hear others say sometimes flying tends to make them a little tight (from the added pressure I think).

Keep up the great work!!

I am down 36 lbs from my maxed out weight. I am down

30lbs with preop diet and surgery on March 9th included. I've been trying to do a daily exercise program, a lot of times it is just walking. I am going for my first fill tomorrow, the 17th. And I can't wait. I have been so hungry and hardly have any restriction. I hope this first fill helps just enough to start losing again. Right now I am stuck at 30lbs. It's discouraging but I know I'm not gaining so that is the main thing I focus on!!! :sneaky:

I was banded 3/20. I am down 30 lbs total. I lost 18 before surgery and 12 since surgery. I am back to the gym for spinning and strength training 4-5 days a week. I can feel some restriction but get hungery after a couple of hours. Will have my 1st fill on 4/28. Hoping that will help with the hunger. Good luck to all.

Heather

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
