Info from anyone banded w/Cincinnati Weightloss

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled to be banded last week of April and was wondering if anyone else has any feedback on Cincinnati Weightloss. Dr and staff seem very nice and personable but I would like to hear from anyone who has used them regarding their personal experience. I was impressed with the fact that most people who work in that office have been banded by the doctor there.

Hi Holly,

I was banded at Cincy Weight Loss on 2/13/09. They are FANTASTIC!!! I've been so pleased with my journey so far. They also have a monthly support group and book club that I would recommend joining. Not to mention the way cool yahoo support group they have online. If you have any questions please feel free to message me. Good luck!

I was banded in Cincinnati by Dr. Trace Curry, the band doctor @ Journeylite. Love Dr. C and his staff. I drove 2 hours to have surgery by Dr. C. Good luck with whomever you select.

I was banded on 04/10/09 and went to my post-op today at Cincy Weight Loss. I am very pleased with the center and the instructions and care you receive stress the importance of the procedure AND follow-up. Along with the importance of having support which they provide. I was a self-pay patient and to me, I wasn't going for the cheapest place to get it done, I was going for the best in care and follow-up. The people at University Pointe Surgical Center are very professional and I was given alot of attention by the physician, the anesthesiologist and the nurses who seemed to go out of their way to make sure my visit was comfortable. I received a follow-up call that evening from Dr. Watkins, and another the next day from the hospital to make sure I was doing well and to see if I had any questions. Best of luck on your procedure and please don't stress about going to Cincy Weight Loss, you did make a good choice.

Hi! I am planning on having Dr. Curry @ JourneyLite (Cincinnati, OH) do my lap band procedure in June. I am having to pay for the procedure out of my own pocket and felt that JourneyLite's price, pre-op, and post-op care was the best total package. I will be traveling about 2.5 hours for the surgery. I am soooo pleased that Dr. Curry is opening a satellite office in Columbus, OH for I will be able to get my fills done there instead of having to drive to Cincy once a month. I have been in contact w/ the JourneyLite staff, including Dr. Curry. I ask a question on their website and within 24 hours I have a reply. I am going to the free seminar on May 7th (Columbus) and have my surgeon consult/dietician mtg/psych eval in Cincy on May 27th. I asked if it would be possible for me to have my surgery during the week of June 8th b/c I have that week off between school and summer school. Dr. Curry and his staff are trying their best to accommodate my schedule.

Wonderful! He is so quick. He completed my surgery in 15 minutes and it has been the best thing I could have done for myself. I'd do it all over again. Best wishes to you!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
