Well I had my first glass of wine! Great!!!! Didnt get as tipsy as I thought! Just been to a pub quiz and sat around people having steaks, burgers, wontons etc - so jealous - but ordered a plate of pumpkin mash with gravy - filled the hole!!!

How's everyone else doing?

I am doing great one week out. SWent back to work on Monday. Countdown to the mushie stage is 6 days...I haven't been hungry and have ate very little but have drank my 2 Protein Shakes and other liquids. I even slept in my bed last night but still had lots of turning, least now it isn't as hard. I think I am healing.

LOL...Lingling, you are so funny!! I'm happy to hear that you've jumped back into a normal routine and are enjoying yourself! I keep reminding myself that food does not need to be the focal point of our lives....we don't need it to have fun. As long as we can have a glass of wine!!

You all are such an inspiration....thank you for being here! Have a great day!

Lingling, So funny! What does it feel like to eat now as compared to before the band? Do you get full right away? And what the heck is a pub quiz? Just curious...

Hello April Bandsters!

I was banded this morning and am home recovering. Things are going really well and I am surprised at how well I feel. Definitely soar and my throat hurts but the gas isn't bad at all. I just took my 2nd dose of loratab though - so I guess it is doing it's job. I slept all day.

Well, I am glad to be part of this group and appreciate all the support it provides. It is nice to know that I have parteners in this journey. I look forward to getting to know you all.

I need to fix my signature with that pink bunny bandster thing...do I just go to my profile and post it in the area where you create your signature?

Well, I got great news today....and I got not so great news today. The good news is that my insurance company approved me for surgery!! It only took 48 hours after they received the last paperwork on Monday.

The bad news is that I won't be banded in April.... The WL Institute that I am going to doesn't schedule you until you go to the day-long pre-op orientation, and they only hold 2-3 a month. The next one is on the 15th, but it is full, so I have to wait till the 29th. Chances are very good that I'll get scheduled for the first week of May, but this means that I'm not a Bunny Bandster...:tt2: So, I hope you all don't mind if I continue to hang with you anyway... and I'll change my Bunny Banner.

PharmaGirl, can you remove me from the "April Hopeful" list? Thanks.

I'm getting banded on 4/21 by Dr. Zapata in Monterrey, MX!

Excited but going through the "let's do it!" "Do I really need to do it?' phase every 10 minutes. I lean more towards lets do it!

You can be an honorary Bunny Bandster!!! We should make a special section Pharmagirl!!

Scoob - Feels just like eating normally as I have no restriction and am only on liquid. However I have been having some mashies so I have got full a couple of times which just feels like normal getting full. If you drink too fast though I am sure that I feel it come up my oesophagus as its like a sink and it will drain but if you fill up too quick will overflow!! ha ha.

Pub Quiz is an english thing I think? Groups of 5-10 people sit in a pub drinking beer and wine (especially in winter by a big fire) and answer rounds of general knowledge questions in the goal of getting a bar tab! A pub is a bar (incase you guys don't have those!!)

Lingling, Thank you! That is very sweet! If only my surgeon hadn't had the nerve to take a darn vacation, I might have made April...LOL...Just kidding...

Anyway, best wishes to the rest of this week's bunnies...I'll be thinking about you!

I can't believe it's nearly hear tomorrow morning have to be at the hospital at 5:30am ofr 7:30 surgery. I'm not so much scared of the surgery as I am the rest of my life with the band. I didn't get to have a last waffle at Waffle House, didn't get fairwell sushi...so much I have left to do..... oh well my other half is so supportive well going to bed catchup with everyone in a couple days. Good Luck to everyone having surgery tomorrow with me and for the next couple days.

JayTee, I felt the same - I need my farewell burger, steak, massive loaf of bread... but I can honestly tell you, I couldnt care less now about those things. If I never ate sushi again (which was my absolute favourite) then there would be a bit of grief, but no where near as much as there would have been before. The band makes you permanently not hungry, you don't care. Besides, I am sure you will be able to eat sushi again and waffle... just CHEW CHEW CHEW!!!!

Good luck to everyone being banded on Friday the 10th! I will be thinking of you xxx:lol:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
