Did your dr give you liquid painkillers or just tell you to cut up the pills? what kind? The only type that usually works for me after a surgery is lortab. I know every dr is different, so I was just curious as to others experiences. I will hopefully be banded in June:)

Everyone has a slightly different story to tell. Personally, I was given Percocet, in pill form. I just bought a pill crusher and crushed them as I wasn't allowed to swallow them whole. Other people get liquid lortab and they don't have to worry about pills. Then, depending on pain levels, some people just take Liquid tylenol and do just fine with that.

One thing I'd say is if you know something works for you and you've had previous success after a surgery or whatever, speak up. Tell your surgeon/doctor beforehand and he should give you what you want within reason.

As someone 4 weeks post-op, my advice is to stay ahead of the pain. I made the mistake, early on, of thinking I didn't need anything at a time when I could have taken something, and then an hour or two later was in terrible pain.

Good luck. Oh, and don't worry about the pain. I seem to have had it rougher than most, but it is definitely worth it to be losing weight.

I was given lortab elixer. It worked fine. I only needed it the first 4 days, then I moved on to liquid tylenol. Good luck to you.

I was given lortab elixir as well. I was warned by the pharmacist that it tastes nasty, so he added a flavor to it for me BUT I never needed any pain medication of any kind. When your doc gives you prescriptions ask for liquid if that's what you want.

My dr prescribed lortab elixir (hydrocodone). It tasted terrible, but most liquid medicines do. I only took the med for 2 days b/c it was making me nauseated. I moved on to liquid tylenol. Now I take the tylenol chewables.

I was given an anti-inflammatory, only. There was some kind of liquid painkiller in my IV, but after my discharge, I just had the Meloxicam 7.5 mg.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
