banded week of March 26th...

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.. i was banded about a week and a half ago... just checking in to see how others banded that same week are doing... hope everyone is well and feeling that their surgery was a success!

i am doing so well, and i cannot wait to move onto the next food phase. Soups are starting to get a little boring, but i am trucking on!

i am feeling great and so happy with my decision! i cant believe that i actually enjoy stepping on the scale in the am! lol

Hey Staree!

I was banded on March 24 and am feeling a whole lot better this week :smile2: The first week or so was a little ouchy ouchy - but now I'm all ready to go  I have been lucky enough to be able to take a few weeks off work and it's just allowed me to not stress about rushing back to work or worrying about anything other than just taking care of me.

I'm looking forward to moving onto to mushie food  Only a few more days to go!

Have a great day!

C

Hi Congratulations! I was banded March 26th and am feeling great had no real pain or soreness except for where the port is. Was sore for about 2 days but pain free by Sunday the 28th. Went back to work the 29th. Today I cheated and ate some watery instant mashed potatos. No repercussions! I hope you are doing great.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
