What do men eat on a normal day

Recommended Posts

I will be starting on solid food in a few weeks and wanted to know what the guys eat for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I read what the women eat and there is no way I can do that. Size wise would help also. Does it matter if you skip breakfast? Sometimes you just don't have the time. Also if you over do it or something does not agree with you what is the best thing to do when you have that pain in your chest.

I was banded 2/18/09 and have kept it pretty boring but satisfying for me. I like the foods, so the lack of variety has not bothered me much. I have kept it simple mainly because when I eat this stuff I already no the calorie and Protein content.

Breakfast about 300-350 calories

2 eggs scrambled with diced onions, tomatoes, and about 1/3 chicken breast with ¼ cup shredded cheese on top

lunch about 300-500 calories

1 to 1.5 cup of chili (with Beans and meat) or some other high Protein thick Soup

Or 1/3 to ½ diced chicken breast sautéed with onions, tomatoes and sprinkled with 1/8 cup cheese also ½ cup of refried Beans with 1/8 cup of cheese

dinner about 300-500 calories

Pretty much the same as lunch

I was filled today so I will be hopefully modifying these portion sizes down a bit.

I was banded on 01/19/09. I just had my first fill on 03/23. The fill has made a big difference and I can only eat 4-6 oz's per meal. Today my meals consisted of:

Breakfast - 1c. Fiber one Cereal with 1c of skim milk/260 cal.

lunch - Healthy Choice meal. Grilled chicken Marinara/270 cal.

dinner - 2 oz sliced turkey and 4 oz cottage cheese/130 cal.

I will probably have a snack later that will probably be 4 oz of suger free yogurt/60 cal.

From what I understand it is very important to do breakfast on a daily basis. Breakfast will jump start your matabilism for the day and help your body stay out of starvation mode.

Pre Band I was anti breakfast and would eat 2 huge meals in a typical day. Now I avg 5 small meals a day including a breakfast. I have to admit that breakfast makes a difference. Some days a drink a Protein Shake on my way to work and nuke egg beaters once I get there.

I know for me I feel better when I plan my foods - I think its easier not to have to think about it during the day. From a guys point of view this felt "very old lady" like.

I am have very little fill so I am not sure my amounts are right on for every one.

In terms of foods - lunch meat, Peanut Butter on a slice of wheat bread with an apple or a banana. tuna fish, Canned chicken.< /p>

Since being rebanded I have redesigned my entire menu. Before I used to eat a lot of frozen dinners (lean cuisine, etc). Now, I am cooking more, freezing it, and eating it later. I try to eat 5-6 small meals a day at no more than 300 calories. I try to follow the 40% carb, 40% Protein 20% fat model.

7:30 AM Meal 1- Instant oatmeal (low sugar)

10:30 AM Meal 2- 3 oz. brown rice, 3 oz. broccoli, 2 oz turkey patty

1:30 PM Meal 3- 6-8 oz. lentils

4:30 PM Meal 4- 1/2 cup turkey chili

7:30 PM- Meal 5- medium banana + 2 tbs. Peanut Butter

9:00 PM- Meal 6- Protein shake (w/ water)

I try to get into bed by 10:00 PM so I can get about 8 hours of sleep.

Hope this helps.

A couple of hard boiled eggs for breakfast.

Protein shake for snack.< /p>

A can of tuna and melba toast for lunch...

Whatever for supper (just whatever my wife and I decide to cook - making sure I eat the Protein first)...

But then again, this sounds more like a woman planned this meal day... oh well, you asked.

matalo how much weight have you lost?

plus do you get your 64 oz of Water in?

This is a two pronged question.

I was first banded 5/21/06. I weighed 311 at the time. I went down to 170 after 9 months. My band slipped and I gained over 50 pounds (I should have gone to Dr. sooner, but did not)

My weight at rebanding (2/27/09) was 225. I am now down to 204.

I drink at least 64 oz of Water a day, closer to 128 (a gallon).

You can click on the link below in my signature that say's....What I eat daily.....

This will take you to my food log of everything I have been eating. Just so you know, the net calories at the very bottom are after I put in the amount of calories I have burned for the day, according to my bodybugg.

Today, was a great day!!!!! Good restriction, low calories, and 4 hours of light exercise.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
