Single,31,no kids, lookin for bandster friends

Recommended Posts

Hey ya'll,

I am 31, sigle, no kids, lookin for bandster friends around my age. It would be nice to go through this journey with someone that just plain old understands what I'm going through ya know? :w00t: I live in the San Fernano Valley in Southern Cali.

Anyways, I was banded 02-24-09 and I have only lost 10 lbs so far and I'm a bit upset about it. Is this normal? I have not had a fill yet, so maybe that's why? :tt1:

When do you go in for your first fill??

Congrats! I wish you well. How are you feeling?

I go in for my first fill 04-13-09. My surgeon cancelled my last appointment last saturday for my first fill, he is on vacation, so I will have my first fill 7 weeks after surgery.

Maybe after I will have restriction and start losing. I guess it doesn't help that I haven't been working out much and eating kinda fatty foods.

For me, I am going through a lot of ups and downs. I was depressed right after the band, and now I am ok. Everyone experiences different things ya know. I can't wait for my first fill to see a difference.

I wish you luck on your new endeavor. Keep in touch.

HI Poma,

Today is i month after surgery and I'm feeling good. I recently started to feel hungry again and get cravings ... so I am looking forward to my first fill on the 22nd. Since surgery I have lost 18 pounds ... but lately i have been getting really painful tummy aches. Have you experienced anything like that? maybe im eating to much or to fast.

How are you feeling?

Thanks for starting this thread... Its a great idea :)

Hey Amy,

I only get the stomach aches when I eat too much. Yes, I can eat pretty normal again. Can't wait till the first fill either. I am feeling pretty good/normal.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
