Hi, my name is Dawn and I live in the Dallas-Ft. Worth (Texas) Metroplex. I am (or formally was) a teen parent, graduated high school, just graduated from college and am now in the process of finding a job (I just got my license). I have been overweight since middle school but obese (:( ) for the past 6 years. I am currently 23, but do not feel it. Not that I know what age I do feel. I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old and cant wait to get further into the process of banding so that I may enjoy energy that I once took for granted. I do not have insurance unitl Late Aug when my husband will be leaving with the Army National Guard for Basic & Specialty training...in which he will be gone for 7 months (so hopefully I can get everything done in that time period). Anyway, congratulations to those that have the band and have begun their new lease on life and good luck to all those in the process!

Dawn (pre-band, still researching options & waiting to be insured)

Hi Dawn!

I also live in the Dallas area - always good to see someone from my neck of the woods! :( I'm also waiting to be banded. My surgery date is August 27. Good luck finding a job and some good insurance - hopefully it won't be long before you're banded, too! :P

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
