Is it bad that I want him to be jealous?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I really liked this guy for about a month, we were like really good friends since the beginning of this semester, and I thought it was mutual. I'm a very forward person, and I just came up to him and told him that I liked him. WELL. He started acting weird, so I was like ok he doesn't like me back, so that's fine. So I proceeded to just be his friend again and tried to stop liking him. The weirdness goes on for like 2 weeks. He said he wanted to talk to me in person like over coffee about the whole thing, but he cancelled on me twice about 30 minutes after I'd gotten to the coffee shop both times. Then he stops talking to me for a full week straight. He would see me and then turn around and walk the other way. I would try to say hi and he would just pretend like he didn't hear me. I was so heartbroken. I didn't even like him anymore, but it was like he didn't even want to be my friend anymore. After that, he just acted like nothing had ever happened and like we were the best of friends. I was so confused! How can you not talk to me for a FULL WEEK and then try to act like nothing happened? ALSO I thought the drama ENDED in high school! I thought college was drama-free! Apparently not.

WELL. Since I've started this whole thing, I've lost about 34 pounds and people have started noticing! Well I saw him today and he saw me and did a double take! I was wearing clothes that fit my newish body shape and I guess he noticed! I laughed to myself and I'm kinda glad that he is noticing me. Is it bad that I want him to be jealous that he didn't get me while he had the chance?

NO, not for him to realize what he missed out on... BUT it would be bad if you gave him a chance now.

To quote a movie I've seen WAY TOO MANY times (for an adult anyway, lol); "smile and wave, boys, smile and wave!"

I say he had his chance and he LOST IT!

I wouldn't drop him just because he wasn't attracted to you when you were heavier (heck, we all like what we like. You can't begrudge him that. Don't you have a type of guy you are more attracted to?).

But I would drop him because he seems to be an immature ass. If his communication skills are limited to awkwardly turning around when he sees you and pretending he doesn't know you, then what could he really offer you anyway?

Is it bad that you want him to be jealous? Heck no! Even at my age I can't wait till I start to show a LOT of change in the positive direction.

Hun, there is this one person that I'd give anything to walk up to, (WHEN I'm at my smallest) and say to him "Now call me a FAT A$$ NOW Jerk! I can change my body but you can't grow a brain or learn manners." So something to that effect.

But I won't say a word... I'll just stroll along as if I DON'T SEE THEM and just be grinning from ear to ear on the inside. That will be enough.

Well, I'm sure you want him to 'eat his heart out' but to be jealous....nah, he isn't worth your time.

There are dozens of guys around you now or who you'll soon meet who will approach you, who will show up, and you will get to choose one to marry one day.

Hola and congrats on your "newish figure". I would have to agree with Plain....he sounds like he is emotionally stunted...and you know what they way about men with little emotional intelligence

And I dont know how old you are, but I am getting ready to turn twenty ten (aka 30)...and I will just tell you now...the drama never stops. College, professional workplaces...lord its always around. Amazing, yet sad.

Keep it up!

I agree with pretty much everyone on here. If he didn't like you for 'you' before you lost the weight then too bad for him. I know a guy that met this girl, she lost all this weight to marry him, and then gained it back. Now he wants nothing to do with her. He never loved her, he loved the 'thought' of her a certain way. That kind of thing will never last.

Keep losing weight, and looking better and better, and the more he acts interested the more you let him know he had his chance and blew it!

Yep honey make him regret acting like an immature a**!!!! Hold yourself in high self esteem and find someone new who will appreciate who you are on the inside and not care about the outside.

This is totally OT...but we're both twenty ten as you put it, both live in P'cola, both work in health care, and banded within 2 weeks of each other. That's pretty cool. Maybe we can meet sometime. I only know one banded person in real life =)

I don't even give asshats like this the time of day. I was hot before... I am hot now and if they didn't want me before they don't need me now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
