Started Mushies and stopped losing weight! help!

Recommended Posts

Are you keeping a record of what you are eating (writing it down) and recording the calories to know how much you are really eating. I have been keeping under 1000 calories and have lost 10 lbs since the band was installed. It has not been the easiest but I really want this to work. commitment

Sorry if that sound rough, its not meant to be....

No, that's not rough, that's the complete truth! I've been using sparkpeople.com to track my food everyday and I've been getting in an average of about 950 cals per day. Some days I can only get in about 700 and other days it'll be about 1000, it just depends on the day and how I'm feeling.

I use sparkpeople too, its the best calorie counter and you can set your own limits for carbs and Proteins too. also a good way to keep track of what your drinking and exercise.. i like to look over the week and see what days were better, and what food choices work the best.

I just started mushies three days ago, and haven't lost any weight. My dr. was not really clear on the calories I should intake each day during this phase. I've been eating three small meals with approx. 200 calories each. Does this sound right? Please give me any info you have:redface:

THANK YOU!

I have been staying under 1000 calories since the two weeks of liquids at pre-op. I just figured that I wuold loose weight at that limit but I have really been counting carbs and with that I only have to count to about 20-25. Realize-my-success web-site has been doing the calories and the carbs. If you have a realize band, your Dr. numbers, and your bands numbers you can log into Realizemysuccess.com and your Dr as well as his staff can check your progress securely.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
