Hi, nice to meet you. I had my first fill last week on March 4th. The day after I was to eat soft food and also thought that i don't feel a restriction. But after a couple more days I'm starting to feel more restriction. Also, there is a lot of burping involved. Are you experiencing that too? So, I guess for me, soft foods go down easy, but stuff like toast or shrimp, I definitely felt that. How much did your Dr. fill? I had 3ccs in a 14cc band. Plus, do you have a second fill scheduled?

Yes, I am having another fill tommorrow I haven't asked questions about my band size or my fills but, I am tommorrow. The weight loss has really been slow I can look in the mirror and notice changes but the scales are slow to move.

You should find out how big your band is and how much is in it. Every time I have a fill, they draw out what is in there and then add from there. It always seems a little less than what should be in the band. Everytime I have had a fill, I know it....My first, I couldn't eat much at all, not even too much liquid for a few days, then it got better after a week. My second fill, was only 1.5 cc, which gave me a total of 3.5 cc, and I went for 8 days, lost 13 lbs. It wasn't good. I went back and had some taken out. They took out 1 cc. After I got home from vacation (we went on a cruise) I went back and I am now at 3.25 cc. It is very frustrating. I have been 10 since this fill, and I am just today, where I can eat a little something without that feeling of throwing up.

Hang in there, everyone is different. It makes mine even harder, because I am 2 1/2 hours from my Dr......

Hope this helps....

Sue

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
