Hi all> I was banded Feb. 19 by Dr. Earl Fox in Richland, WA. He and his staff are great! Only issues since banding have been that I am not pain-free as soon as I wanted to be (wanted to wake up next day without pain) and even consumming less than 600 calories a day, still no weight loss. Doctor and friends tell me to be patient but it is tough.

After 4 weeks most people feel mostly back to normal and by 6 weeks you start to regaina little energy and may even begin to feel better than before.

Everyone has a different body and tolerances to pain. Hang in there, once a little more time passes you will feel like a million bucks.

You will definitely lose . . . it is just a matter of time. Your body is recovering from surgery and needs to adjust. One thing to keep in mind is that if you are not getting enough water/fluids in you might be retaining a little Water. Also, as you move through dietary stages you will need to pick up a few more calories.

I stopped losing at 600-900 calories after a few weeks but started losing again between 900-1200 at about 6 weeks out. As long as you follow the rules, the weight loss will definitely come . . . and it should only get easier from here, especially after your first fill.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
