Medial (inner) thigh lift -- are you happy you did it?

They have a smiley on the sports talk I'm on that says this thread is worthless with out pics. I think this thread is leading to that. I am curious myself. I've always had absolutely beutiful legs. (told I have womans legs) Anyways that being said my thighs don't touch any more but they are flabby looking now.

Karey, I am curious about your slippages. How are you doing now? What do you know about the sleeve? I had a slippage last year and had my band removed. I am sad, because I gained back a lot of the weight that I lost - from 206 back up to 242. I am trying to get the courage up to try again. I miss my smaller self, even though I still had about 45 pounds I wanted to lose.

Ivansmom: So sorry about your slippage and losing your band. This is my second slip and I am upset about it too. I didn't realize how much my band was helping me regulate my food intake until I got another unfill. Baah! I will find out on May 6 if my band has miraculously gone back into place. If not, I plan on getting a sleeve in June. I have gone back and forth about what I would do, but I have finally decided. The sleeve has a lot of advantages. There are no fills for one thing! It is a restrictive procedure and it doesn't interfere with digestion or cause malabsorption. Removing a large portion of the stomach removes the ghrelin hormone and so your appetite goes down or away. The down side is that they remove a large portion of your stomach! It's a more difficult procedure than the band and there aren't as many doctors that know how to perform it yet. It costs about $10 to 15,000. If you go to the home page of Lapband Talk you will find a section on revision and alternative surgeries and there is an entire section on the vertical gastric sleeve. The people on the threads there are very nice and really know their stuff. If I have to have the procedure, I'll probably start a thread on there just to get some support. I am actually recovering from the surgery RIGHT NOW! I had a circumferential adominalplasty in dec, and just had inner thigh and arms done in april.

I am happy I did both, but I have had some complications from the inner thigh. My incision opened in 2 places. Please please please listen to the doc and be very careful after surgery to keep legs togther and knees together. This has been a super painful recovery that has taken weeks lobger than it should have b/c I split.

I am looking into a thigh lift. My legs have always been so flabbly. I can never find pants to fit right. (Got to lose some weight first!) starting my journey, first fill 6/8. Planning ahead, save some $, thinking of Mexico but I am concerned with aftercare.

I had the inner thigh lift on 5/7 and the jury is still out on whether or not I am happy with it. The incision along the right side opened up, which my dr. (now) tells me happens to about 90% of the people who have this procedure. The healing process has been slow, actually worse than the healing from the TT. BUT, on the upside, I saw immediate results with the little chubs of fat between my legs being gone immediately. My doc said it will look better as time goes on. Will let you know when I decide if it was worth it.

Have two open wounds one on each side so I completely agree it is a difficult area to heal my doc says I'm lucky its so little that he says he's seen a lot worse

I hope you both heal quickly. God Bless... I have debated about having this surgery. I had difficulty healing from my lower body lift. Just don't know if I can take anymore. I do hate the old inner thighs, but it sounds like a very difficult recovery. I've heard that it's very painful to sit to use the rest room, etc. I will really be interested in how you like your thighs when you're healed and the pain has gone. Please keep me posted. Thanks!

i did it 2 weeks ago and my stitches came separated and i have an open wound and i cannot walk even to the toilet. my doctor said it is a common on the t section near the groin to be separated because of the heavy muscels of the legs. i am in pain and i would not do it as much as i wanted it if i new i had to suffer so much during and the scar will remain judge and discusting unless i do something about it.

I am so sorry for your suffering. 2 wks ago I asked my PS to do this surgery and he said no, he won't do them because of the complications. I would like to have my inner thighs jiggle joggle gone but do not want to suffer.

My heart goes out to you! Are you seeing a wound specialist? What is your doc doing for you? How long are you going to be down with this? So sorry you had to experience this. This is the down side to plastic surgery. We all need to be reminded that it doesn't always do as planned. Please keep us posted on your recovery.
