Okay, here's a pic of my eyes 3 days after blephemoplasty (or however ya spell it)--upper & lower eyelid surgery. The swelling has actually gone down quite a bit from the first two days. I could barely open my eyes for 12 hours. This was taken by my buddy JUST BEFORE she drove me to get foot surgery. You can imagine the looks I got in the waiting room of the outpatient podiatry center. Oh, the lovely STRINGS stayed on for 5 days. They're to keep the bottom lids from dropping so you don't end up looking like a hounddog. It's a very strange feeling to see the world thru strings attached to your eyes.

But once my foot had been cut into I didn't think so much about my eyes. :)

Okay, here's me 6 mos later...Xmas 04. Sorry I don't think a picture exists w/o me smiling so you can't really see what my eyes look like w/o grin creases. But, I think you can see there is quite a dif from surgery pics!

The strings made me crenge (sp). The thought of having them near my eyes would make me want to crawl out of my skin.

Hi Penni,

Is it possible to put the after UNDER the before? It almost hurts to see my "now" self so close to that painful state! But really, whatever you want to do. They're for LBT's enjoyment.

Yeah, the strings were very weird. Not everyone has to have this. The doc mentioned something about "might have to attach strings" but I didn't really know what he was talking about. Most people have to have tape under their eyes for about 10 days. I dunno...5 days of strings or 10 days of tape.

Oh and all that red turned DEEP PURPLE a couple of days later. It took about 2 more weeks for there to be no bruising. I seem to bruise easily tho. I know people who've had this done who didn't bruise at all.

Ooh I dont think I could do it. I had surgery on my eye for an infected corneal ulcer a few weeks ago and I dont think I'll ever let anyone near my eyes again, I was totally blind for 3 days. It was truly awful. Granted that was on my actual eyeball but I have a phobia now.

You look lovely though.

Thanks Kare,

I really needed to see this. As soon as I get my money together I'll be doing my eyes, chin and tummy. I bruise easy as well so I'm expecting the worst.

Odd how we have to go through hell for beauty.

You look great!

What a goddess you are!!
Yes, I try to tell my sons I'm a goddess all the time. They don't seem to get it tho. :)

Thanks Vera. Yep it's pretty bad for a couple of weeks but WELL worth it!

I've kinda got it in my head to get a TT & Lipo the January. If Muffinbirdie comes thru with good reviews I'll probably try her doc in TJ. It'd be cool to schedule something at the same time w/ some other Lapbanders. We could get a suite or something and share nursing expenses.

What's your time frame and have you got a PS picked out?

(I figure January because it's cool enough to wear that "girdle" & after all the Xmas goings'on.)

I've researched and seen pics of Dr. Alejandro Cardenas's work. I've also talked with some of his very happy patients. He's in Monterrey MX. His prices are right but better yet his work is wonderful.

I do have a mental date of Nov 17th...just before Thankgiving. That should give me all winter to heal. If I don't get my money by then (waiting on a settlement) then looking at January as well and will pull a loan.

On avg. I'm loosing 3-4 lbs a month which should put me at goal (157) by next March :banana

April 17th 06 I want to go to Belize!! I'm trying to plan everything.

WOW You look great after having that surgery... How much vision did you loose as a result of the droopin skin around your eyes? I use to get pre surgical photos all the time for this surgery and field vision test results, when I worked at the insurance company. I would document the info in the computer and send the paper work to the powers that be that make the approvals or denials on certain surgeries.

I have been considering Lasiks surgery (spelling?) I dunno though...Some people say your wide awake for the procedure some people say your knocked out. I dont like that feeling of being hovered over in a dentist chair and everyone says its the same feeling. If I had it done,I would have to be knocked out....To not have to wear contacts or glasses!!! Ugh, that would be sooooooo nice

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
