Psych Eval on Monday

Recommended Posts

What kind of questions did the doctor ask you at this appointment? I am just curious. Although I am a counselor, I have never been to a therapist so I am a little anxious.:tt2:

The psych eval is a personality test. You will take it on a computer. The test is 500+ questions. Seems like a lot, but I did mine in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Some of the questions...

Do you love your Mom/Dad?

Do you hear voices?

Do you see visions?

Are you afraid of the dark?

Do you do drugs?

Attempted or thought about suicide?

Do you think you are attractive?

If you were an artist, would you like to draw flowers?

Do you ever feel like swearing?

Do you want to be a race car driver?

Seriously, these are some of the questions!

There are some off the wall questions, but by your answers, the therapist will score you. They are all true/false questions. Just be honest in answering them.

Thanks for the info! Makes me feel so much better.:tt2:

Not as bad as I thought it would be. Guess I'll live.

I didn't have to do a test on a computer. Mine just asked me some questions to see if I was mentally ready to do weight loss surgery.

Ditto, no forms. Just about 20 min. of questions you would expect, and then a few more waiting while he filled in some info. Don't sweat it (although I did too). -BG

I also had mine on Monday. First I colored in about 290 questions regarding my relationships/love/support/personal feelings. Second test was about my relationship with food (about 75 questions) and finally 25 questions regarding my relationship with close family. All hree also had questions regarding suicide. Then I talked to the dr for another 45 minutes.

Main thing is I PASSED. I was actually told that I was an excellent candidate. Yeah me!:tt2:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
