Cobra Insurance After Job loss (fills) visits

Recommended Posts

After your loose your Job due to down sizing and you go on Cobra Insurance for a short while. How are they about fills and Dr visits for the Lap Band. Anyone have to deal with this issue. This is a weird issue the band has been a curse to my life more that a wonderful thing. Getting small is great and I am doing wonderful but the fallout is really getting crazy. The whole loss of Job ties back to a% of this. Now before someone says they can't do that. I said a % ties back that this. Anyway back to the Question. anyone got a answer??

Hi, I'm not sure but I THINK cobra is usually the same health benefits you have had. I would call the HR department, or check your employer's website, if they have one. However, I do know it can be very expensive. Hopefully someone can give you a better answer than me.

Cobra must be the exact same coverage, at the cost (plus a small handling fee, usually aroumnd 2%) your employer paid in full for you. (so anything they used to kick in to cover you, they don't any more). It is usually horridly expensive and you may find it cheaper to just pay for the fills out of pocket (just a warning)

At any rate, if insurance, while you were employed, covered the fills, then the cobra coverage you pay for will cover the fills (at least unless or until they change insurance companies, which places can do usually once a year)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
