I didn't start feeling restriction until my second fill. Then, of course, I started the PB'ing as well...so the more restriction you have, the more careful you have to be with "chew, chew, chew" and avoiding tough meats like some steaks, etc. I even PB'd on a hamburger patty. I have 6 cc's in a 14cc band. I do get hungry, but nothing like I did before my second fill...it seemed to really help. I got that done in January, so I'm thinking of making an appointment for another one in March. I still get hungry too, but not so bad once I started increasing the Protein content in my breakfast/lunch shakes. That's basically what I eat - Protein Shakes for Breakfast and lunch and dinner with the family if they aren't eating something I can't have like pizza. Otherwise it's Protein shake again. For my lifestyle with working every day, it works for me - so far.

Hope that helps!

I guess the only kind words I can offer is -- it will come. I was banded 11/21 and I too can eat more than I'd like, though my portions are at least normal-human sized and not the gargantuan meals I used to eat -- so for me, that's progress.

I have already had two fills and will get my third on Monday. I'm hoping I will start feeling restriction too (I had a bit after my second, but it's already "loosening up"), but like has been mentioned, I will then have to start paying attention to HOW I eat because I know I don't chew, chew, chew as I should. I guess one good case of PBing will learn me.

Just had my fourth fill (banded 11/21/2008) and right now I am feeling great restriction. I felt it after my third fill too but it faded after about two weeks. First and second fills didn't make much of a difference here.

Fourth fill?? Wow! We were banded the same day and I thought I was being moved along with getting my third one next Monday!

Just had it yesterday. I was scheduled for the 20th and asked to come in sooner. They put in .4 for a total of 6.9 cc right now in my 10 cc band.

I thought this time I would try to hold out the month. Ugh...

I was supposed to get my fill tomorrow but couldn't get off work, so now it's Monday (a holiday for me).

Restirction is very different for each person. But it really sounds like you need a fill.

I was banded November 11 and I have had 4 fills. I have great restriction with the fourth be I am very cautious as to how long that will last. Usually my restriction will last for about two weeks and then it fades.

Today makes two weeks since my last fill, so I am just waiting to see what happens.

I would guess by now (fourth fill on up) they would last longer... I know it's different for each person and also depending on how much each doctor puts in but it's gotta start slowing down at some point.

I really hope. I just don't want to be one of those people that never hits their sweet spot. :crying:

Omg, are there those?? I thought if people were diligent and listened to their bodies and really worked the band, we could all hit our sweet spot. Hmmm...

FWIW, I am really glad I did mine earlier. I was nervous about it worrying I might get filled too tight. My doctor's office is fantastic and has a good system for telling that. The difference today from yesterday is just incredible. A container of yogurt filled me up completely an hour ago and I still feel totally full.

Wow, that's fantastic!! I'm 3 hours out from lunch and hungry again. :crying:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
