Hi, new here--How to get 5-year weight history when I haven't gone to a doctor ...

Recommended Posts

five years in a row?

I need this for Aetna, but I'm not sure what to do with it. I did go in 2003 and 2004, but I was pregnant both years.

Any thoughts?

Do you know you're approximate weights???? If so, type them up in a chronological order and see if your PCP or any doctor would just sign that. Maybe that would work.

I had a list of dates and weights over the years and that was enough.

Good luck

You can use the weights from the beginning of your pregnancies. That should be acceptable. Any doctor visit you went to for any reason would also have a record of your weight. Did you go for your yearly pap? Your ob/gyn will have your weight. Check on it.

Are you sure you need a 5 year history? I just got approved by Aetna and I only needed a 2 years - I sent 2007 and 2008. Check on it.

I do Bariatric insurance approvals for a living. Aetna only requires 2 years of weight history. It must be a full 24 months from whatever day your insurance approval request is submitted. If you don't have doctor documention they will accept weight watchers logs, Jenny Craig weigh ins, etc. Anywhere you were weighed and someone else documented your weight. Also consider whether or not you visited Care now or the ER, had a work physical or were in the hospital for any reason. All of those are places to find your weight histroy. Good Luck!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
