OK...so my new "obsession" is shopping for clothes because I can finally fit into some cute stuff. So...I went shopping the other day for some pants for work. I couldn't believe it...a size 6...A 6??? I wanted to run out of that fitting room and scream...I have NEVER been a size 6. Damn...I am so in love with my band...just thought I would share.:biggrin:

I'd like to eventually see some size 8s, no hope with my hips of ever seeing a size 6. Not built that way. Too many curves. Most people I doubt will ever see a size 6. Lucky you.

That is so wonderful and inspirational!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!

I don't know if I'll ever get to a six, because even when I was a stick, I was a 12, but I can't wait to have that feeling you just described. I've had little tastes of it lately though.

I wish you lots of continued success!!! Thanks for the motivation today!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Believe me...I'm sure if I went to a different store a six wouldn't fit but I'm still happy about it. I want to wear the pants inside out so everyone can see  I'm usually wearing a size 8 which is beyond my wildest dreams...never thought that I would see it. You guys...you can do it...you WILL succeed!!! If I can do it...anyone can. Keep a positive attitude and keep working hard...it's so worth it.

THIN FEELS BETTER THAN food TASTES!!!!! (it's true)

Congrats! yes, you make us feel so excited and hopeful. I remember wearing a size 7 in high school and that was 30 yrs ago. My hips will probably not let me ever get back to a 7, but if I get to a size 10 I would just be so happy and thankful! I am working this band as a tool, doing my part. Thanks again for the update, you make me feel like I was wearing the size 6!! horray, horray:thumbup: Patti:biggrin:

OMG that is wonderful!!!! I'm so proud of you. You GO girl!!! I haven't been a size six since I was 24. MANY years ago....... I too will never see a size 6 again, but an 8 or 10 would be awesome. I'm in a 14 now, so not to much further to go.

I would like to add my congratulations, too. I had a similar experience I'd like to tell you about. I wear scrubs at work, and began this journey wearing 2x size. I had moved down to large and was ready to go down again, so I went to my favorite outlet store and picked out some medium tops and pants and took them home. Well, the tops looked okay, but the pants looked baggy. I can't be a small, I said. So back to the store, only this time I wanted to try the pants on before I exchanged them. Well, the small fit, and was I ever in shock over that! I am almost to the point of small tops, but I like a little room, so medium is okay for now. In numbered sizes, I went from women's 22-24 to misses size 12. The 12's are comfortably loose, and I recently returned a pantsuit to Blair exchanging a medium for a small, as the medium was too baggy looking. I am broke from buying clothes, but ecstatic over being able to wear some more form fitting clothes.

Congratulations again, and keep up the good work.

WOO HOO! That is the best feeling ever, isn't it? I was in complete SHOCK when it happened to me. I wasn't a size six since I was like, 11. Seriously. So I know EXACTLY the excitement you feel. YOU ARE AWESOME! GO GIRL!!!

Tina Congrats!!! I tried on 6's this past weekend. They were tight, DH LOVED them. I could almost wear them, but need 5 more pounds to get into them.

I loved the comment about wearing them wrongside out! Too cute!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
