Wow ... are you getting a nose job at the same time as well? I need that too!! I cannot believe how much I hate my nose ... it used to be fine, but the tip seems to have changed and become more "bulbous" as I have aged.

Well, I'm not getting it at the same time as the lower body lift - though that's not a bad idea! But my nose is wider and rounder then I'd like and I feel it gives me a girly, rather then womanly, look. So I want a narrower nose too. It was cute when I was a kid ... but I'm ready to go a little beyond cute!

Mae, thanks so much for the update; I'm really glad all went well. Dr. Ortiz is sort of strict about the clear/then full liquids, but he does not do a mushie stage--he doesn't believe in it. If you have questions, Dr. Miranda, the nutritionist there was very helpful to me. When my daughter was banded, I did tell him I started Slimfast a few days early cause I was STARVING & I thought I was getting weak (get out the violins) & he didn't seem to mind too much. He's always available on his cell, as is Dr. Martinez. (I love him) The might be stricter w/you cause it was a rebanding.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
