Inauguration... what did you think?

I clearly misunderstood and I apologize. I read your post of, "I just have to say, God help us in the next 4 years!!" as something negative against Obama like we were up creek. I thought, "not already"!

And PS - I realized this morning why I was crankier than usual, ahem. Again, I apologize!!!

Thanks SnT.

I really did read the OP wrong. I wouldn't have posted had I read it correctly. Didn't pertain to me since I hadn't watched it! UGH! Hate when I do things like that!

i watched it and thought it was simply amazing.

i heard that he wrote most of it himself (CNN)...

i really liked the dig at Shrub that said now we are ready to actually lead (paraphrasing of course)

that was great! I was hoping he'd directly comment on Shrub's incompetency (but doubted he would), so it was a real treat when he said that.

DC must have been very, very busy over the past few days.

The estimates are from 1.5 million to 2 million in DC.

I did not go and since all bridges in from Virginia to DC were closed for security reasons, it didn't affect my area very much.

My worry was of something happening security-wise...with all those people in such a small area, How would they get out safely? and being only 25 miles from DC would I be able to get my family together and get us all out safely if need be? Sadly those are things we have to think about these days.

But it was amazing to hear that with that many people crammed into a small area that is typically riddled with crime on any given day, there were no incidents domestic or otherwise.

It is very cool and very heartening that everything went off so well in Washington. It seemed from the media coverage that the crowds were dignified and appreciative of being there. That was truly great!

Amen! As I was watching the parade, I got nervous when the Obamas got out of the car. I would yell, "Get back in the car!!"

Regarless of what your politics are, you've got to admit that today is a pretty spectacular day in US political history. I'm not even american and I was glued to the tube watching Obama's swearing in and his mesmerising speech (man, his speech writers are good!).

.

I am pleased that we have a President who is articulate, professional, and appears to be inclusive. I have hope for the future. It will not be an easy future, but nothing ever comes easy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
