The Last 40 Pounds

Recommended Posts

Did any of you have major struggles getting motivated to lose that last XX amount of pounds??? I've lost over 70 pounds and I look and feel great. But I need to lose 40 more.

I don't know if I'm just feeling sluggish after the holidays or what . . .but working out is seeming like more of a chore than fun like it was before. I suspect that I need a fill, but I'm scared to death of an overfill.

I don't know. Just, will someone please kick me in the arse or motivate me or something??? LOL! I want to lose these last 40 pounds. Ugh.

You and I are kinda in the same boat. Right around 70lbs lost mine signifigantly slowed down now I lose about 4lbs a month. I was disgruntled with it but I am learning to live with it right now..

Are you just a slow loser right now or are you at a standstill atm?

Brandy, I just read your blog and I think I might try that 5-day pouch test. I'm thinking I'll start it on Wednesday because I'm out of town Tuesday and I don't want it to be weird.

OP your stats and mine look pretty similar so far. I lost 9 before surgery besides what my ticker shows. The only difference is I plan on getting to a lower BMI than you, so still have more like 50 I plan on losing.

Im pushing about as hard as I can, walking every day, started strength exercises, but can't do much of them. I sort of tried the 5 day pouch test, except I had some Protein Cereal in the morning for Fiber, but my results were no better than what Iv been doing, just baking salmon and snacking on it during the day or eating a lb of shrimp.

Ill let you know if I slow down any more losing, but so far Im still losing, but tired of daily walks for 3.5 miles and all the dieting and pushing. Im ready to have a few more treats than I allow myself now. Im thinking it will be Sept/Oct before I hit goal, how about you OP?

Just look at you! Over half way there!

For me, it was not noticable-really. Once restriction kicked in, I weighed every day- EVERY day. If I gained a pound I would take note of what I ate the day before and avoid it.

Other than that, the weight consistantly went down every few days even if just a few ounces. So when I was charting my progress on the calendar-it was always going down.

I hit a spell where we vacationed for the holidays and so I didn't weigh myself but when I got home I had passed goal.

Again, it went by like clockwork.

So, perhaps take your mind off the goal right now and concentrate on seeing the scale move downward-doesn't matter how slow- as long as it's moving. Before you know it you'll be at goal.

Hiya SanDiego, :wink5:

I could have written your post! Thanks so much for posting that. I signed on today looking for something to make be get of my arse too!

I am about 80 lbs. down, have the same amout to lose as you. I keep gaining and losing the same 5 lbs.

I started journaling again on Sunday. I'm trying to go back to basics.

Maybe we should start a thread and get others to join in so we can track each other.

I think I need a fill also.

The last 1/3 is the hardest to lose.

Reaching the end of the rainbow, do you think we will ever get there?

:)

I had 80 to lose and at down 49, I am also struggling but I just keep looking at my FAT photos and telling myself that EXERCISE is key right now and when I get to doing that again I start to lose a little more. Just keep on going and know you are on the downhill side!!!!

thank you for this thread!! I am having trouble getting back to basics with these last 32 stinkin' pounds. Except I have this irrational fear that I need to hurry up and get to goal in case something happens and they have to remove the band. talk about non-productive internal dialogue. We can do this y'all!! best wishes to everyone.

I am right in line with all of you. I have lost 53 and have about 25 to go, my dr said it would slow down, but I just think I should be doing better. Just had a fill though so maybe it will be my answer. Good luck to everyone. I know we can do it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
