Am I now too tight!!?

Recommended Posts

I had my 4th fill on monday evening and had 1ml more (1cc) put in my 10ml band. I now have 7ml in there as 6ml gave me hardly any restriction. (I could eat anything with a glass of water). I was quite tight when drinking the Water at the clinic whilst he was adjusting the Fluid in it. I know that the tightness wears off a week or so after the fill so wanted it noticably tighter to begin with.

Eek, now I think I'm too tight and to top it off, I think I'm getting a cold too so that will make it tighter anyway! I only managed a teeny amount on tuesday. Half a scrambled egg in the evening and I couldn't even drink water til 3pm. Today I forced half a cup of tea down this morning but it was cold by the time I got half way. And have managed a small amount of mashed potato and some baked Beans for lunch and a bit more 2 hours later. I am producing a load of sticky mucus instead of saliva and have twice had to spit this out after eating.

Please help, does this sound normal and that my fill will relax a bit in the next couple of weeks? Or, do you think it is too tight?

HELP!

You sound super tight. I would go to liquids only for a couple of days. If that does not help then I would get back to the doc asap.

I was that way with my first fill only I could not even swallow my own saliva.

With your first fill did you wait it out or go in to get unfilled?

Yikes...that scares me, im due for a fill in a couple of weeks and i also have 6cc right now in a 10cc band. I dont know how much I need, somedays I can eat way more than a cup of food, other days I can only eat a few bites before i'm full so it's really really hard for me to gage how much of a fill if any that I need because it just depends on the day. I have been losing weight slowly. I'm just scared to get too tight as well and get more restriction than i wished for.

This is very normal...this has always happened to me after a fill...very tight...you are able to get a little bit of food down and that's great. This is the way I preferred it....like everyone else said, if it doesn't loosen up in the next week or two...go back....but please make sure you are hydrated and if you can't keep liquids down, then go asap. Some peoples tolerance levels as to the amount of restriction is very different....so if you are totally uncomfortable and can't see waiting for it to loosen, call your doctor. Good luck!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
