Hi Nicole, if you've lost 25 pounds without a fill, consider yourself a success... that's a little under a pound a day, crazy fast loss. I didn't really lose for 2-3 months after surgery until I got good restriction. Just try to stay on track as much as possible... bad habits are hard to break

Hi Nicole, I was banded on November 26th and am having a heck of a time as well. I started eating solid foods on my third week, and with all the parties and potlucks, I have been eating way too much. Still way less than I would have before, just not bandster portions and the guilt is bothering me. My first fill is January 5th and I hope it makes a big difference. Maybe I should have waited until after the holidays and the temptations weren't there taunting me. Good luck.

Hi Nicole

What a shame you couldn't get booked for a fill before Christmas as its going to be very tough for you. Try not to undo all the good work so far as you have done great losing 25lbs already.

I had my band fitted on 6 November and got my first fill on 12 December and i have noticed a big difference in the amount I can eat since the fill, although I expect this will wear off a bit at least there is no fear of me eating a large amount of Christmas food.

If you do put on a couple of pounds before your fill, don't beat yourself up because you will soon lose it afterwards.

Sue

You're still doing good  My doc expects some sort of weight gain in he first month or so while you heal.

What motivates you? I made (and add to) a motivation board. I paste outfits I love with my head pasted on top lol. I have knee high boots I've always wanted but could never fit into. Pictures of snowboarding and horseback riding and bellydancing. All things I can't wait to start doing again.

It might help you to work on something like that and keep it somewhere you can look at it and smile.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
