Protein Shake tastes like card board!!

Recommended Posts

I think you have to try a few until you find what is right for you. I have Muscle Milk and like it, but will probably try more in the future.

I bought vanilla flavored Protein powder from GNC and would mix it in the blender with Sunny Morning Crystal Light...it tastes like a creamsicle.

On the go, I'm a big fan of the EAS Myoplex muscle building Protein shake in chocolate fugde. It has 42g of protein. They have a lower calorie version too. Either way...yummy!!!

YES - EAS Carb Control is my Favorite Protein Shake by Far (not vanilla thought) 110 Calories & 17 grams of protein.

I purchased several packets of the Unjury powder to try them, I only tried one and that was the vanilla/plain (that thing was terrible). I tried it in some oatmeal and couldn't even finish the little bowl. I'm glad to see that I can at least try the chocolate and make it like a banana split. I need to get more Protein in anyway I can. Any suggestions for the strawberry unjury?

My fav so far is the Choclate powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. It's like a wendy's frosty. Sometimes I mix in a few frozen strawberries, a scoop of pineapple, and 1/2 banana and some ice. It's makes the best "Banana Spilt" I have every had. I might have to try the other that was listed here..I need a new flavor.

I am also loving the chocolate unjury... I just mix mine with milk put it in my mixer and throw it in the freezer. Nice for a Protein filled snack.< img src="https://s.bariatricpal.com/uploads/emoticons/default_unsure.png" alt="" />

I have problems with whey protein....so I've been on Soy protein...the chocolate soy is ridiculous and should be illegal, it's so good. 1/2 banana, 2 TBSP creamy Peanut Butter (reduced fat pb works too), I have a nice 400 calorie shake, over 20g Protein, that I can only drink HALF of :cool2: I struggle to get the rest in, if I sip it for an hour. That way I know I"m getting something nutritious. I refuse to put my body through 500 calories a day...if I can get to 800 or 1000 that's good stuff.

I mixed the strawberry with skim milk and liked it. Also, if you are past the mushies, you can put the Unjury and milk in the blender and blend it, then add some frozen strawberries and pulse the blender a few times to break up the strawberries.

I did the same with the vanilla Unjury, blending strawberrries or mixed berries or peaches. Put them in frozen and pulse. I think you will like it.

Here's a yummy Protein shake:

8 ounces non-fat milk

2 tbsp Protein Powder

2 tbsp SF Peanut Butter (or LF peanut butter)

2 tbsp honey

1 small or medium banana

Some ice

Blend

YUMMERS!!!!!!!! I actually used chunky Peanut Butter and it was delicious! I couldn't drink but 4 ounces so I gave the rest to my husband. He took one sip and raised his eyebrows up and said, "Ohhh this is gooood" and then he finished it.

I tried it last night without a banana and it was awesome!

Don't bother with the SLIM Fast Low Carb...I just tried it and I was gagging.......It was Nasty...cardboard isn't even a good description...that's putting it mild...I even tried adding Splenda and Vanilla to it..even added some bananas and then went so far as to add some peaches..thinking hmmm smoothie...obtw.....I put mine in little personal blender to make it creamy and ice creamyyyyy. I was able to eat about 10 small spoonfuls and I was done..at this rate I will be a RAIL if this is my choices.......NASTY...did I mention not GOOD. I am hoping my other four kinds I bought today to try will be better then this one. I bought the Akins and the EAS along with some Protein that you add to Water that is a drink--fruity type---and then some carnation instant BFST type stuff...hoping it is better and I saved the best for last. I am getting a little scared since I have find something since I have started my high protein/low carb. 10 day pre op diet....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
