I squeezed into a size 10....

Recommended Posts

Major NSV moment. Ladies I've been a 22 - 24 for the past 18 years, thanks to GOD and the lapband I made it all the way down to a 14 (or so I thought). Hubby and I were out doing some Christmas shopping and I saw some fierce suede pants on the clearance rack for $9.99 (WOW) size 10, I passed them over, hubby said why don't you try them on, I didn't think I had a chance.....

Ladies...they fit, lovely. I was in shock. I went home and actually had to study myself in the mirror. It had been so long since I had actually saw ME. I loved what I saw and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

I can truly say If I can do it anybody can. For those of you who don't know my story.....

I was banded 3/04, yep, 4 years ago. I went for 1 fill didn't get restriction, somehow thought, once again something that just didn't work for me. I got caught up in life, went back to school, moved to NC, etc...4 years had gone by and I was heavier and now on HBP & high Cholesterol meds.

I decided to find a fill doctor and get my life back. It hasn't been easy(grandma used to say nothing worth having is), but it has definitely been worth it. For me fills have been the key (without restriction, what's the point of having the band?), along with exercise. While I am not the gym rat that I probably should be, I've found that simply including at least 30-45 minutes a day of walking, stationary biking or exercise videos not only make me feel better, but helps the weight come off.

food no longer controls my life and THAT feels so good. To any and everybody that reads this, know YOU CAN DO IT!!

That is great! I'm still waiting to finally get in a 14 (almost there, in a 16 comfortable). If I were to get into a 10 I would probably explode right in the fitting room.

Crishell;

That was me, in the car when we left the store I got a little teary eyed. Hubby had no clue what was going on and I couldn't really put it into words. I felt like I could hear Marvin Sapp's "Never would have made it" was playing in the background.

Me a size 10, couldn't be, can't be. I thought something must be wrong with the pants, or maybe they're cut really big. It took A while for my mind to grasp it.

I can't lie, I am so jealout of you right now, but you know something, I know that I will get there. I was a size 22/24, and I am now down to a loose 18. I have gone from a high of 267 to 204 right now, and I know that by my wedding anniversary, I will at least be 160, that is only another 40lbs, but my ultimate goal will probably be 150.

My only question is, what about the skin? Do you have a lot of loose skin or has all or at least most of it gone back to size? :huh2:Just wondering what I have to look forward to.

Thanks,

Congrats on the NSV. I am very encouraged by your "testimony". I was in a 22-24 and I am now in a 16-14. I'm out 1 1/2 yrs and would love to be at goal this August. My problem is the extra fat around my stomach. I know that it's a good 5-8 #'s. I would love to have Lipo but I don't see that happening unless God provides(yes, I have asked him).

Again, congrats and yes, I understand the tears of joy.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
