Another scorcher today here in NJ. Yesterday one of the girls I work with (who doesnt drink Water oy) went outside to smoke, came back in and had heat stroke. We had to call the ambulance to come and get her b/c her fingers and hands cramped up. SAD!!!

Be careful everyone, especially if you are not used to the heat.

I'm with you on the heat. I took the kids to the beach to watch the shuttle yesterday. It was hot and crowded, but we had a blast. haha. There's nothing like watching the launches over the ocean!

NJChick, OMG - this was a co-worker? how is she doing??? she must have gone out and smoked the whole pack. I cant imagine having a heat stroke from being exposed to the heat from just 1 cigi... unless she has other health issues.

Riverrat, you got to see the shuttle??? wow! I agree with Vines.. we NEED pics of that.

Leatha, how are you feeling now?

Its so HOT here, that Philip has to go in the fridge to cool off!

actually I was busy with chores and heard "HELP! Momma, HELP ME!" and went to see what was going on..... he was trying to get somthing to eat from the top shelf. *sigh* oh! the perils of motherhood.

I made him do it again so I could witness his great ability of climbing.

I'm cracking up over here. First I was jealous of the kids in the ocean, but look at lil Phil learning how to be a compulsive obsessive over eater at such a young age! He looks like me every single night.

It's still hot, stormy and windy. I keep jumping out of my chair thinking somebody is breaking in. I have a patio door in my office, and pine cones keep getting blown off by the wind and hitting my sliding glass door. If I open the door, they'll whack me in the head.

And as sick as I am, I'm not even looking at Phil. I'm just trying to see what's in the fridge. Wow, Paula, you are a good little Bandster cause there's no goodies in there!

Wait... is the inside of everyone's fridge as clean as Paula's? I don't have kids, but when Chris (often) drops a glob of jelly, he just relies on the dogs for clean up. My house sometimes "looks" clean, but most of the drawers and doors are stuck shut from things my husband claims he had nothing to do with.

Mine's about as empty, but not as clean.

I'm not hording food as much. My fridge has been mostly empty for two weeks and I haven't freaked out about it.

Sorry, I tried to upload the video of the shuttle, but to no avail. 10.9mb. I went to the Dr for my 1st fill today, but he wouldn't fill me. He said I should be okay for now and if I start getting real hungry to get one. The 4oz fills me up, but I still get hungry late afternoon and crave ice cream late at night. Anyone else?

Leatha, how are you feeling now?

I think the itching has subsided some. The doc called in some prescription cortisone lotion.. ugh.:) Mostly I'm just kinda depressed because I was so enjoying going out and taking care of my fish and my yard everyday. It always depresses me when this thing rears it's ugly head and I'm reminded that I'm not invincible. Mortality has a way of doing that. I'll figure out a work-around and get over it eventually. I guess that with the fact that I was shot down by a man I was kind of interested in because I'm less than perfect didn't help. Seems that men (and women, I suppose) want only healthy prospective partners, even at my age. If you have a history of depression - even treated successfully, or health issues such as I've had, men aren't interested. I guess that would depress anyone. All I know is they are missing out, but that doesn't leave me any less lonely:(.. being reminded that I'm flawed just plain sucks..

Hot here in NC too! We were at 100 today, heat index 106 or so. My hubby's been working in this mess! He's doing a home remodel and screening in the new porch was on his list today, yuck! He has shade but when it's this hot, well, I know I wouldn't have made it! Funny thing is, now that he's home for the evening, he's freezing in the house! :) Yesterday I left all the blinds closed and lights off, didn't run the dishwasher or washer/dryer and cooked with the microwave, no stove top or oven! just to keep it cool and save on running the A/C.

The kids will go out in the sprinkler for 1/2 hour during the day, otherwise, we just stay home, don't drive, and stay cool! I'm waiting on whatever is headed this way in the way of COOL!

We are headed to Myrtle Beach next week so I'm hoping it isn't this bad there! Need to check the forecast.

Stay cool everyone!

Hey, thanks for the ideas about popcicles for the mail lady and garbage pick-up.

OH YEAH! Fireman!! You don't have the luxury of a t-shirt and shorts on your job, huh? All that gear, fires...augghhh!! Thank you for all you do. You are LBT's hunky firefighter!

I dont think Ive ever met a perfect someone.... no mental/physical/social/health problems?

Come on! We are ALL flawed.

(((hugs)))

I hurt for you. I wish there was something I could say or do to help this state of being. Oh Leatha, I am so sorry.

Men! Cant live with em, cant kill em!

Or can we?

I agree! Everyone has something going on. Hang in there Leatha, Mr. right will come along, and he will be worth all the waiting. Everyone has a mate somewhere!

Paula it cooled down a bunch here yesterday 78 degrees, and only going to be in the 80's today with 68 tonight. We got a lot of rain yesterday too, so I am hoping it cooled the pool back down! Did you get a break yet?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
